Congratulations Anthe!
This adoption is super special in more ways than one.
Anthe is lucky to be alive. She might have used a couple of her nine lives to get this far but she's now absolutely glowing and thriving! The battle to save her was so worth it.
Anthe's health yo-yoed. She would be healthy one week then crash, and the cycle repeated. She wasted away so much and syringe feeding began to feel like torture. We decided to try one last stint at the vets, where she spent several days getting intensive care. She perked up enough to leave and moved into foster care with Holly, one of our very experienced fosters who took on the burden of knowing she might still die. I didn't want to place that grief on someone else but Holly took on the responsibility and gave Anthe around the clock care to nurture her back to health.
It was a long road and not without its ups and downs. Anthe picked up ringworm in the days before she moved into foster care and this meant weeks and weeks of having to treat that on top of managing her other issues.
Several months on, Anthe is now a transformed kitten. She is extremely affectionate, glued to her human saviour, clever, playful and a truly delightful little gal.
Anthe, now Daffy, is Holly's very first foster fail in the many years she has been caring for rescue kittens. She gave her heart to this little kitten and that bond is unbreakable.
Thank you Holly. I look forward to seeing your updates on her and to see what other tricks she learns!
