INKTOBER 2026 | DAY 27: DUMB

Today is dedicated to all my doggy pals who are scared, frightened or absolutely terrified of fireworks.

With Guy Fawkes coming I reckon fireworks are the perfect subject for today’s word, DUMB.

Now, I don’t know about you pals, but I really don’t understand why the two-leggers think setting off loud bangs in the sky is such a brilliant idea.

While they’re all standing around going “Ooooh! Aaaah!”, some of our pals are hiding under beds, shaking in their paws and wondering if the world is coming to an end.

No guessing who our pal is today.
Just a little reminder from me to all the two-leggers:

If fireworks are going off, please keep us safely indoors, close the curtains, put on some music or the telly to soften the bangs, and make sure we have a cosy place to hide. Don’t force us out of our hiding spots, and please check that our collars and microchip details are up to date in case we get startled and escape.

And if you know your doggy pal really struggles, have a chat with your vet before fireworks night about ways to help. my smooth brother Riley has a special jacket and ear muffs and a special holistic potion he gets.

Most importantly, please think twice before setting off fireworks yourselves. Some of us have very sensitive ears and even bigger worries.

What a day Pals, fell a sleep on the sun, requested a cocktail but the bartender must have missed my order.

Hear me out, Pals…
I’m just sitting here thinking.

How come we don’t get to walk around like the two-leggers? And more importantly, how come we don’t have pockets to carry our own treats?

Seems like a serious design flaw if you ask me.

I’m thinking of asking Santa for a jar of free will this Christmas. Imagine the possibilities!

In fact, I wonder if the local butcher would take me on as an apprentice? Not a bad career move, that. Surrounded by meat all day, and I bet the staff discounts are great.

Anyway, just sitting here pondering life’s big questions while I wait for Mum to finish doing whatever it is mums do.
Honestly, Pals, how long can one woman possibly take?

Dreaming of jumping off the diving board, or yoga on the beach, or croissants with mum.

I live a blessed life that’s for sure.

I did throw up a little in my mouth after this so maybe it was a little too much and I should reconsider sleep version 23
