🐾 **PRETTY IS STILL LOOKING FOR HER FOREVER HOME!** 🐾
📍 **Whangārei, Northland**
Pretty is still searching for her very own loving, permanent home!
This gorgeous brindle-and-white girl is approximately 10–11 months old, medium-small in size (roughly knee height), and possibly a Staffy × Whippet cross, although her exact breed is unknown.
Pretty is a quieter, slightly reserved girl when first meeting new people or experiencing unfamiliar situations. However, once she feels comfortable, her beautiful personality really shines! She's affectionate, cuddly, gentle-natured and also quite happy entertaining herself.
She has so much love to give and so much potential with the right family.
**🐶 A little about Pretty:**
- Approximately 10–11 months old
- Female, medium-small sized
- Breed unknown, possibly Staffy × Whippet
- **Desexed, microchipped and vaccinated for parvo!**
- Crate trained and progressing well with toilet training
- Has some lovely basic manners
- Very food motivated, eager to please and quick to learn
- Walks quite nicely on a lead
- Currently learning off-leash skills and recall in controlled environments
- Sweet, affectionate and loves a good cuddle
- Has been doing really well with other dogs following slow, carefully managed introductions
- Has been introduced to cats and chickens while on a lead and through a crate, with encouraging responses so far
**❤️ Her temperament and training**
Pretty can be a little nervous when first meeting unfamiliar dogs or experiencing new situations. However, once she's had time to settle and become comfortable, she's been doing beautifully!
With positive experiences, consistency and patient handling, the owner believes her confidence will continue to develop.
She's still very young, with plenty left to learn, but she's already shown how willing and capable she is.
She's incredibly food motivated, which makes training with her an absolute pleasure!
Pretty has also been introduced to cats and chickens in controlled environments, and her responses have been encouraging. However, **this doesn't mean she's fully tested or guaranteed safe with either species.**
Any future introductions would need to be gradual, carefully supervised and managed, with off-leash interaction only considered when it's genuinely safe and appropriate.
**🏡 What kind of home does Pretty need?**
The owner is looking for someone who understands that Pretty is still a young dog learning about the world.
Ideally, her forever family would offer:
- Plenty of patience, kindness and understanding
- Ongoing positive training, socialisation and confidence building
- A safe environment with consistent boundaries and management
- Regular exercise, enrichment and opportunities to explore
- A home where she's included as a loved member of the family
- Most importantly, someone who will love her unconditionally and give her the happy life she deserves!
Secure fencing would be preferred, although the owner is willing to discuss other arrangements with experienced, responsible owners who have a realistic plan for keeping her safe.
Pretty has recently undergone her desexing surgery, so she'll also need to continue following her veterinary recovery instructions while she heals.
**🐾 Meet-and-greets are very welcome!**
Pretty is currently in Whangārei, Northland, but the owner is more than happy to discuss travelling to meet suitable potential families.
Anyone genuinely interested is welcome to arrange an opportunity to spend some time with her and see whether she's the right fit.
**Please understand that the owner will be quite particular about where Pretty goes.**
This isn't a first-in, first-served situation. The priority is finding her a safe, loving, permanent home where her needs will be understood and met.
The owner will be asking potential adopters about their lifestyle, living arrangements, experience with dogs and any other animals in the household. A meet-and-greet and home check will also be part of the process.
If circumstances ever change down the track, the owner would always want Pretty's family to make contact rather than rehome her elsewhere.
Pretty is such a beautiful little soul. She's already making wonderful progress, and the owner cannot wait to see her blossom with someone who gives her the time, love and commitment she deserves.
