OCTC Ribbon Trial October

21/10/2025

Hi All. We are aware that there is an issue for some, when entering OCTCs December Scent Trial. We are waiting for Dogsnz to resolve this. Also there was something odd going on with the direction of payment. When paying make sure it is our usual account for show entries Otago Canine Training Club 03-0903-0380809-001 and PLEASE include 'Scent' in your reference to make it easier for our Treasurer to mark off payments. Thanks

Another show done and dusted, this weekend it was Rally-o.
A smaller but fabulous show 😁 Lots of successful teams, some great achievements, lots of laughs, challenging courses and of course some "Wally" awards.
Many thanks to the sponsor, VitaPet New Zealand, for the fantastic prizes and prize packs.
Of course there is no show without judges, massive thanks to Dawn McCracken, Peri Spence and Jo Miller for making rally fun yet challenging.
A special thanks to Marjo Buis, Anne McLachlan and Alex for giving up some of your weekend to come and help us at the show.
Thank you Carina Gough and Melissa Paterson for doing all the results.
Ailsa Hawkins took care of the big task of making sure the judges (and me as well) got fed over the weekend, thank you 🙏.
And finally many thanks to the small but efficient OCTC rally crew who all chipped in and made the show happen.

Congratulations to the Top Dog winners 🏆 🌟

Novice A - Maxine and Mate
Novice B - Sarah and Lochie
Advanced A - Sharyn and Ally
Advanced B - Vicki and Lucy
Excellent A - Debbie and Holly
Excellent B - Helena and Rango

Let's do it all again in April!

Now A Big Shout Out to Everyone Who Entered Our Obedience Show!

Thank you so much to everyone who entered—especially those who made the trip to Dunedin. Your support means the world to us!

A huge thank you to our Judges, Rob Claman and Maree Gavigan, for travelling down to Dunedin and for so generously giving up more of your time to offer one-on-one training. Your expertise and kindness were truly appreciated.

Thank you also to everyone who pitched in to steward and help make the show run smoothly, it wouldn’t have been the same without you.

And a special thank you to VitaPet New Zealand for their generous sponsorship, your support helps make events like this possible.

We hope you all enjoyed your weekend despite the weather, and we look forward to seeing you again next year!

What a Weekend!

What a busy and action-packed weekend we’ve had—with Obedience, Agility, and Hoopers all taking place in true Dunedin weather: windy, damp, and chilly!

We are incredibly grateful for the support and flexibility of our Judges and competitors, which made it possible to postpone Agility and Hoopers till Sunday.

A huge thank you to our amazing Agility Judges—Chris Moody, Jinnie Galley, and Roy Thorndycroft—for your fantastic courses and for adapting so graciously to the less-than-ideal conditions. We are so appreciative of your support and professionalism.

Thank you as well to Joanne Rennell for judging all of Hoopers on Sunday—your energy and dedication was truly appreciated!

To all the competitors who stepped in to help fill roles when we were scrambling—you were absolute stars. And a special shoutout to Barbara, who was an unstoppable scribing machine all weekend long.

Thank you to VitaPet New Zealand for their very generous-sponsorship

Congratulations to everyone that that competed especially the new Grand Champion Jess and Zoom,

We hope you all enjoyed the weekend despite the weather, and we can’t wait to see you again in October.

Kia ora,

Due to high winds we have abandoned the agility show for the remainder of Saturday. We will be starting the day on Sunday at 8am with Intermediate 1 and Jumpers A2. We will then continue with the Sunday schedule.

Hoopers will now run concurrently in a third ring.
