I have a couple of silver babies that will be ready to adopt in roughly another month. One boy & one girl, both look very similar. Currently a month old, growing beautifully. Medium-ish length hair by the looks which may require a little maintenance.
They will need the company of another guinea pig of the same s*x. I have older girls I can pair the girl with but not any extra boys atm, des*xing is an option also to allow a boy/girl pair if you want to go down that route.
The babies have been handled every day of their life. The boy prefers to be left alone at this point but the girl is quite happy to chill on your lap.
Raised completely indoors so not suitable to live outside this winter.

Flick me a message if you are interested (:

I go on about this constantly but they really do need the space!

If you were a guinea pig, how much space would you prefer? πŸΉπŸ‘£πŸΎπŸ›πŸ’–

There is a lot going on in my life right now & has been for a while now. It has become too difficult for me to keep up with everything so I am choosing to officially step away from this page for a while & focus my energy elsewhere.
So no rescues, no adoptions & no boarding for the foreseeable.
I will continue to answer queries where I can but please don't expect an immediate response (:

Happy holidays x

1mΒ² of space available to a pair of guinea pigs is not unreasonable! If you can not meet that minimum requirement, I am not for you.

Bonnie, Harley, Fleek & Holly are up next to adopt. All 4 are pure shelties. All pretty young but unsuitable to breed. Gorgeous ladies.
Can't seem to find a pic of Holly, only videos πŸ˜… she's mostly white with black, similar to Fleek. Will take updated pics tomorrow for those interested.

I am very particular about where they end up. If you can not offer them the required minimum space, I will not allow them to go to you. It may sound harsh but their health & wellbeing is my main concern.
I do have more spare hutches/runs now. 3 different ones which can be sold with these girls or separately.

Let me know! Always happy to answer questions!

I have made the hard call to drop my herd numbers further due to my personal circumstances. So I have a few more happy, healthy girls up for adoption. These 3 are all from my main female herd & co-habiting well. So could go together or separately to different homes with other females or a des*xed boy.
Individual info under each picture (:

Whopper & Burger are also still here & there will quite likely be a few more girls available at a later date. I have however halted all breeding indefinitely.
Also have a hutch available, I purchased it recently, only been used for a week but plans have changed so needs to go.

I will ask about your set up & it needs to be adequate, a good home with a good set up is more important than the cost of them (: Can sort transport around NZ for you if needed.

There is a post doing the rounds atm & it really irritates me as it is misinformation.
The main point of the original post (that it is normal for guinea pigs to eat some of their p**p) is correct however saying "guinea pigs don't produce caecotrophs" is wrong.

Guinea pigs have two kinds of p**p. One they eat & one they don't.

They DO produce cecal p**p aka caecotrophs throughout the day/night. They are more of a green colour, softer & they almost always eat them immediately (so you may never have seen them but they definitely exist) compared to their normal brown ones that you probably spend your life cleaning up if you have guinea pigs πŸ˜†
Caecotrophs are an important part of their diet! If you start finding them, it is cause for concern.

There are also scholarly articles that support this but found a very simple break down as below.
It is hard enough as it is to get the general public aware of a guinea pigs needs without pages generally trusted for accuracy, missinforming their followers.

Last two baby boys up for adoption unless others fall through (: Not quite ready yet.
Both boys are shelties (half brothers) so their hair will grow down to about their feet. Can show you their parents if you're curious about how long that actually is. Not difficult to maintain at all with the odd trim & semi-regular brushing.
Prefer them to go together but can go separately if there are a couple people looking for a wee boy to bond with with an older male pig.

Message me to enquire!
Adoption fee applies.
