Sorry was a bit behind with race reports yesterday as I’m away at the Dublin horse show. But a great start to the season with DELZ ABEEL & AGERA ( pictured) taking out wins. Congratulations to owners & connections.

RACE 4 - 1.59pm
ARTURA : Drawn well in gate 1 with the advantage of senior jockey Opie Bosson in the saddle. He looks in great condition, strips fit, & hoping a win isn’t too far away.

Ponies have turned into 17.2hh horses 🤷🏼‍♀️ but we still use & highly recommend equisssge on our jumpers and race horses.

Congratulations to Mark Walker and Sam Bergerson on claiming the 2024/25 Trainer Premiership with an impressive 131 wins 🙌🏽

The Te Akau Racing duo enjoyed a stellar season, collecting 18 black-type victories, including the Karaka Million 2YO, Karaka Million 3YO, and the inaugural NZB Kiwi.

A huge well done to all trainers for their efforts throughout the season, best of luck for the new one ahead!

It’s great seeing our ex race horses out and about. WHISKEY NEAT was successful with us as a 2yo. Headed to Hong Kong and returned. Was successful once again in NZ and now has a lovely sporthorse home with Abby Fawcett trying his hand at Show Hunter. He looks fantastic and remembered his mate Zig Zag. 🥰🥰

CAMBRIDGE SYNTHETIC

Our last race meeting for the 2024/2025 season with three runners going around at Cambridge today. Another 48 hours of heavy rain makes us appreciate still being able to race.

RACE 2 - 1.08pm
DEEP PURSUIT : Drawn nicely in gate 3 after a freshen up and deserves to be in the winners circle in the near future. He looks in great condition and has senior jockey Michael McNab in the saddle.

RACE 4 - 2.17pm
ROCK HUDSON : Another fresh up after a break, his work has been pleasing and he has developed into a lovely horse. He will improve with today's race day experience under his belt. Sam McNab knows him well riding him regularly in trackwork.

RACE 6 -3.29pm
ARTURA : He will appreciate the synthetic track after his last start where he didn't really appreciate the Ruakaka track. He looks in great condition also and has the advantage of a 3kg claim with Yuga on board.

RACE 1 - 12.34pm
DELZ ABEEL : Heads back to Cambridge after his last start win where he has come though his race in fine condition. We hoped for a better barrier but unfortunately drawn wide in gate 11 so much will be left up to Michael to slot him in where suits. Capable of going back to back if he isn't beaten by the draw.

RACE 2 - 1.08pm
AGERA : A consistent runner who always is there abouts. Has the advantage of Sam McNab once again claiming 4kgs. His work continues to please and hopefully his day in the sun is not too far away. (pictured)

RUAKAKA RACES

A chilly start to the day after a total of 43mls of rain over night in Cambridge. Slightly less with 21mls falling at Rurakaka Track. Three runners head north in the testing conditions amidst winter racing.

RACE 3 - 1.37pm
ARTURA : He will only improve as he steps up in distance. Track conditions will be the question mark today but does have the advantage of in form stable apprentice Yuga Okubo claiming 4kgs.

TEN TO TWO : Steps up to the 1600mts tomorrow and again track conditions will be the query as how the heavy sand holds up after the rain. Drawn nicely in gate 4 and has Michael McNab back in the saddle.

RACE 7 - 4.00pm
MALDINI : He has crept up in the ratings, so we have elected to use our promising apprentice Sam McNab claiming the 4kgs in the heavy track conditions. His work has been great, he looks in fantastic order and Sam knows him well. (pictured)

It's been a big week for this week with three winners in Hong Kong and Australia on Saturday and another two at Cambridge today.

scored a great win in the opener today, bouncing cleanly from a wide gate and never in doubt from that point onwards.

Out of the mare , is a sister to the very capable and a three-quarter sister to Group 3 winner .

Later on the card the Pike Racing trained scored a brave win to cap off some consistent form for owner Bruce Dell. With 4 placings from 7 starts a win was always on the horizon and he showed plenty of fight to get up on the line.

At $5,000 + GST Service Fee Swiss Ace is certainly great value!
