Huge congratulations to our very own Nikki Kitcheman. We are all so proud of you. Shared North Island Coach of the Year 2025. This acknowledgement is so well deserved. We are so lucky to have you Nikki. Your dedication to your role, the riders, parents and ponies is second to none. Thank you for everything you do. ❤️

If you’re coming to ride please be aware that my Dad (Roger) often goes for walks with his dog, Dixie down the road.

Dad has poor eyesight, hearing and you might meet them in the middle of the road. I know you all can’t wait to get riding but if we can keep the zoomies to on the farm on horseback rather than speeding around the corner that would be great.

Thanks 🚛🛻🐴🏇👴🦮

Looking for a new home...

Mackenzie 12yr old 16HH Bay Clydesdale mare (unregistered).

Dam : Palamar Esmeralda (Merle) owned by Lee Copland
Sire : Lochie owned by Paul Stroobant Kia Kaha stud in Helensville

I have owned Mackenzie since 2022 after getting her from Mahutonga Stud in Morrinsville. Since then, she has been extensively hacked over the farm, schooled in the arena (yes, she makes the earth move), tackles the cowboy challenge like a pro, Is not afraid of turkeys, peacocks, sheep, cattle, tractors, diggers, ATVs ducks and dogs. She is scared of vets (but only if they have needles - so needs her eye covered), doesn't like oral worming (I pop it in her feed and leave her in a yard until it's gone). Mackenzie has been regularly trimmed (barefoot). Up to date with dental and worming.

Have I mentioned she is a pudding? She is the only horse that has 3 saddles and is being ridden in an Ideal 18" XW saddle.

When Mackenzie is in regular work, she is a nice ride. I bought her with the idea that she would be a good plod for heavier beginner riders however, she has made it quite clear that she prefers a rider who doesn't let her get away with stuff and who can laugh at her shenanigans. Let's be honest, she lacks the athletic ability to do much, but she likes to try given half the chance. Mackenzie needs a home where she won't be The Boss, where she has a job to do, fun to be had and adventures to go on. Can you offer her that?

We cannot imagine the pain the Schick family is experiencing right now. It's a tragedy for which there are no words.

We're praying for Rod's recovery and sending all of our love and healing to Gina, Lucy, Oli, Rod and the rest of the EventStars Ltd team.

This Saturday the proceeds from all rides will be donated to their Give a Little for our amazing emergency services. Come ride for Jimmy, the brightest star, gone far too soon.

On a May morning as the sun broke through the fog, my darling May Morning (Golden Digger x Danehill) was laid to rest at the age of 23. After a recent dental and further x-rays she was diagnosed with EOTRH (Equine odontoclastic tooth resorption and hypercementosis) which causes painful inflammation and instability of affected teeth, so I made the difficult decision to save her from further toothache.

May was an equine international jetsetter. Originally from Ireland where she had 5 starts, she was exported to Kentucky, then Australia before retiring to NZ and finally being surrendered to New Lives Animal Rescue. She was first fostered by Angela Hawker until her c**t, Jacko was weaned. May just loved being a mum having had 3 foals (2 c**ts and a filly) and was determined to steal every foal Angela had on her property, so I was asked if I could be her second foster home on 25 May 2018 and she never left. She never ceased to make me laugh, was an expert at sloshing water from troughs all over herself and would wink at any boy who came close enough. I hopped on her after 15 years of not being ridden and she didn't put a foot wrong. She was beautiful to ride, got me in trouble at Little Valley because she got loose, and needed her friends.

Thanks for the memories. 3/05/02-13/05/25

It’s been a busy few days here for the team from TH Concrete Laying. Early, frosty mornings, cold concrete, and hours on their knees getting the finish in the washbay just right. A really nice bunch of hard working guys. I reckon they’ve done a great job. Just the drainage system to hook up now and it’ll be ready to use in around a weeks time🐴🧽🧼🫧💦
