Fireworks go on sale this week. A few checks now can keep your pet safe:

🔒 Make sure fences and gates are secure. Frightened pets can bolt.
📋 Check your pet's microchip details are up to date, so if they do get out, they can be brought home.
🏠 Have their quiet space ready to go.

If your pet needs help staying calm during fireworks this week, talk to our team about calming products and advice suited to their needs.

If your dog is frightened by fireworks, a little preparation can help. 🐶

Swipe through these tips, and plan to walk your dog before dark on nights when fireworks are likely. Once they’re home, keep them securely indoors and give them access to a comfortable place to retreat.

If your dog has panicked or tried to escape during fireworks before, contact Vets North ahead of Guy Fawkes. We can talk through what may help them.

Here we have the wonderful Sophie with "Appa". Sophie has a passion for equine breeding that shines through in the care and dedication she gives to every mare and foal. From pregnancy scans to welcoming these little bundles of joy into the world, she absolutely loves being part of the journey! 🐎

For a cat, the safest place on fireworks night might be under the bed, in a cupboard or tucked into a quiet corner. Let them choose where they feel comfortable. 🐱

There's still time to help your pet feel safer before the bangs start.

🏠 Set up a quiet room with their bed, water and favourite toys. Close the curtains and put on some music or the TV.
🔊 Play fireworks sounds at a very low volume and reward calm behaviour.
🌿 If you're using a calming aid, start it a few days before the fireworks, not on the night.
