Good feeding practices are key to a successful poultry farm. Here’s what to keep in mind:

✔Feed your birds at regular times each day to maintain a consistent feeding routine.

✔Ensure there’s enough feeder space: 3-4 inches per bird for layers, 2-3 inches for broilers.

✔Keep feeders clean and free from contamination to prevent health issues.

✔Adjust feed quantities based on your birds’ age and production stage for optimal growth.

✔Monitor feed consumption and make adjustments as needed to keep your birds healthy and productive.

As we settle into a New Year, now is the perfect time to reflect on last year’s wins and lessons while setting goals to make 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 even better.

Instead of our usual diet and exercise resolutions, let’s change gears and focus on practical ways to strengthen our farming businesses.

Here are a few farm-related New Year’s resolutions to help you grow stronger.

𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡.

Farming is demanding. It’s OK to pause, breathe, and seek help when needed. Talk to someone and plan your workload to avoid burnout. Remember: you can’t pour from an empty cup.

𝐆𝐞𝐭 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝.

How many hours have you wasted looking for a misplaced panga? Save time, money, and frustration by keeping your tools and equipment in order. Proper care and organization prevent breakdowns and delays. A little organization goes a long way.

𝐌𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐏𝐞𝐧𝐬.

Clean pens and poultry coops mean healthier animals and fewer vet bills. Use good days to clear manure and improve hygiene for better animal health and productivity.

𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬.

Know your costs. Record every shilling spent on seeds, feeds, fertilizer, and repairs. Use spreadsheets or apps to track costs, compare prices, and boost your return on investment (ROI).

𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐞.

Share your farming journey on social media or volunteer to teach the younger generation about agriculture. The more people understand where their food comes from, the more they’ll value it — and you.

Let’s make ②0②⑤ a year of progress, resilience, and growth.

From all of us at Three Hearts Agrovet, we wish you a prosperous and productive New Year!
