Our week in a nutshell...been a while since we had a case exhibiting classical symptoms of canine distemper. This week we had a case in a St. Bernard cross. This has been going on for over 6 months. The incidence of this disease has been significantly reduced due to adherence to vaccination schedules. It his a highly contagious disease!

Meet President Kingston – A Brave Little Fighter!

Kingston, our newest furry friend, recently moved to Kenya from Burundi with his loving parents. One fateful night, his family woke up to a distressing sight — a large, unexplained wound on Kingston. Without hesitation, they rushed him to our Westlands Branch for emergency care.

The wound was too extensive to be sutured, so our team turned to a trusted, natural remedy: honey treatment. Honey, especially Manuka honey, is a powerful agent in wound healing thanks to its remarkable antimicrobial properties.

To protect the wound and support healing, Kingston was fitted with a bandage — and he’s been staying with us for over a week, showing excellent progress. We’re happy to share that he’s healing well and will soon be heading home!

At our clinic, we combine science, compassion, and innovative care for every pet we meet — and Kingston’s story reminds us of why we do what we do.

Wishing Kingston a smooth recovery and a joyful return home!
