Kenmare Animal Rescue We are a group of volunteers, with a wealth of experience in animal rescue. We are a non profit private rescue.

We have opened Kenmare Animal Rescue Association to provide a local rescue run by local people.

Little Alice had major dental work today!
Her breath could kill at 10 paces so we had to bite the bullet and get her teeth sorted. She was finally deemed healthy enough to withstand an anaesthetic, and Aoife our wonderful vet, and top nurse Susann O'Sullivan Daly did an amazing job keeping her stable throughout her operation, and coping with the most horrendous smell!🤢.
Alice hasn't many teeth left now, but was delighted to get home and have a bit of wet food and a trot up the farm track. She really is the most amazing little dog, and wags her tail whatever happens to her!!
We love you Alice!! Get well soon🥰

UPDATE! DAISY IS HOME AFTER BEING MISSING FOR 10 DAYS!!!
Daisy is missing from Sneem since Sunday afternoon.
Last seen near Gerah, at approx 3pm.
Very friendly, she is wearing a purple collar and is microchipped.
Often wanders down to the village but there have been no sightings.
Please no negative comments!
Owners very worried.

BEN IS RESERVED!! THANK YOU FOR ALL THE MANY APPLICATIONS.
Applications are now open for adopting gorgeous Ben.
Ben is an 18 month old Merle Collie.
He was very shy when he first went into foster, but is now coming out of his shell!!
Ben is great with other dogs, dog savvy children, and shows no interest in cats.
He is learning to walk nicely on the lead, and his recall is a work in progress, but improving daily!
Ben does get stressed when he is in a confined space alone and chases his tail, but when he is in company, dog or human he is fine.
Ben will make a fabulous family member for people who are prepared to continue his training.
Homes with another dog are preferred.

Carlo and Ruby headed off to their new homes in the UK today.
We left at 6.30 pm last night, caught the 1.15am ferry from Dublin, and were walking on the beach at Holyhead at 5.30am!!
Then a 4 hour drive to Brixworth Country Park, to meet their new owners, and also the wonderful Shirley Sadler who set up both of these rehomings.
We are so lucky to have Shirley helping us in the UK, she is a total superstar.
Carlo was delighted to meet his new owners and his new girlfriend Tilly.
Ruby got to her new home and had a great roll in the grass after her long journey and looks so happy already.
Both dogs travelled really well, and behaved beautifully on our numerous toilet breaks.
Thanks, as always , to our fosterers Susie and Lorien, who have put so much work into getting these lovely dogs ready for rehoming. We couldn't do it without you!!👏

Ruby is looking for a forever home in which to spend her twilight years.
She is a 12 year old, neutered , Border Terrier.
Ruby is very sweet and loves company.
She is very good on the lead and enjoys short walks.
She would make a wonderful companion for an older person/couple.
No cats though please!!
