Dog bites ARE preventable. Never, ever, ever leave a child alone with a dog, no matter how "nice" the dog is.

Dogs give clear warning signs that all children and adults need to learn. There's no such thing as "the dog attacked without reason".

Help prevent both bites and unnecessary euthanasia by learning these things:

WHALE EYES (when you can see the whites)
EARS BACK or FLAT (not to be confused with happy puppy ears back - it's very easy to tell the difference!)
STIFF POSTURE
TENSE JAW

All of these will happen seconds before a bite. Dogs do not growl or snarl in this situation. You MUST look for these signs!!
