Horse or Giraffe 🀣 πŸ¦’ TLC picking some Hawthorn leaves. Hedgerow foraging is a great way to keep horses busy while adding a healthy variety of fresh plants and herbs to their diet. Our horses have ad-lib access (as far as they can reach over the fence) to Birch, Hawthorn, Elm, Hornbeam, Wild Roses, Hazel, Linden as well as herbs such as Chamomile, Nettle, Calendula, Dandelion, Cleavers, Mint, Plantain, Fennel and more. We create, maintain and encourage growth of our hedgerows and buffer zones and the horses select and forage what they need and what's available depending on the seasons of the year.

Sandy Hills wildlife is thriving! 🦊 This time of the year, the fox cubs become independent and explore the world outside of the den. Little one had no idea what this big creature on two legs could be? Track systems are not only a blessing for horses, they also protect the land and it's inhabitants.

One piece of track equipment we couldn't live without is our small but mighty 25 yr young Suzuki Jimny. May it be haynet, bedding, rug or fly mask deliveries or bags and tubs of feed, meds, creams and sprays. Mucking out when the tractor has broken down, pulling other vehicles out of the mud, nothing is impossible, she just simply gets the job done, in all weather and circumstances! And let's be honest, I was sold when I saw the colour 🀣 it was meant to be and love at first sight

While Harry has been heading back home to work (he's only 10 and a much loved riding pony) Polly has made a beautiful connection with Alba, our strong and confident lead mare, who will give Polly the guidance and protection that she needs as a shy girl. Both are cuddly bears and love nothing more than mutual grooming sessions 🀎🧸 a great foundation for a happy retirement life

The shelters were very popular this evening - AFTER the rain stopped πŸ˜†πŸ™ˆπŸŒ§οΈ Humans will never truly understand their logic which is why allowing horses to make their own CHOICES is so important
