We were lucky to escape most of the bad weather yesterday. No damage and all animals are safe and sound 🙏🐴🐱 looking forward to some drier days ahead

We've constructed this run in shelter specifically for winter storms from the north and east 🌧️🌬️ glad to see the horses using it today.
Our multiple shelters all face different directions and in addition to our mature hedges and trees the horses always find a cozy spot. We don't feed inside as it would increase frustration and resource guarding and create a stressful "survival of the fittest" environment which can lead to serious injuries. Instead they focus on getting out of the weather for a while and take turns eating outside. Everyone is warm in their outdoor rugs, ranging from 50-200g depending on the horses age, body condition, fitness level, coat health, etc. Little Pedro, being a young native pony in great health, has his own thick fluffy rug 😉🧸🐻 he's also small enough to find shelter literally everywhere 🥰
