đŸ¶ Your dog is talking to you constantly
 just not with words.

A wagging tail doesn’t always mean happiness. Flattened ears don’t always mean guilt. And sometimes the smallest body language signals tell the biggest stories.

Understanding canine body language can help you:
✔ Build trust
✔ Prevent misunderstandings
✔ Improve training
✔ Recognise stress early
✔ Strengthen your bond with your dog

From tail wags to whale eye, I’ve put together a practical guide to help owners better understand what their dogs are really saying.

Because the better we listen, the better life becomes for both ends of the lead. đŸŸ

Bringing a puppy home is exciting
and occasionally like living with a tiny, furry tornado.
One of the biggest early challenges? House training.
The good news is, with the right routine, consistency, and a bit of patience, you can make real progress in just ONE week.

Think:
✔ Fewer accidents
✔ Clear routines
✔ A puppy who starts “getting it”
✔ A calmer home for everyone

It’s not about perfection—it’s about progress (and maybe keeping the mop handy for a few days đŸ€).

Ted went off on a little solo mission today
disappeared into the undergrowth like a furry ninja 🌿
Came back looking very pleased with himself
proudly carrying this absolute unit of a bottle like he’d just discovered buried treasure 🏆
Safe to say, Ted finds everything with his nose! đŸ‘ƒđŸŸ
Sticks, smells, snacks
and now apparently recycling too ♻
Not all heroes wear capes—some just wander off and return with rubbish they absolutely shouldn’t be this proud of 😄
Anyone else got a dog who “collects” the most random things?

Most dog training struggles don’t come from a lack of discipline

They come from something far simpler. 👇

"Inconsistency."

One day it’s allowed.
The next day it’s corrected.
And somewhere in the middle
 your dog is left guessing.

Clarity—not correction—is what builds calm, reliable behaviour.

I’ve just published a new blog breaking this down in a practical, no-nonsense way:

đŸŸ Why consistency matters more than correction
đŸŸ How mixed signals slow progress
đŸŸ Simple ways to bring clarity back into your training

If things have plateaued lately, this might be the missing piece.

đŸ¶ Just brought a new dog home
 and feeling a bit overwhelmed?

You’re not alone.

There’s so much advice out there — training plans, routines, socialisation, “you must do this immediately”
it can feel like you’re already behind.

But here’s the truth:

👉 The first 30 days aren’t about doing everything perfectly.
👉 They’re about doing the right things calmly.

In my latest blog, I break down:

What actually matters in those early weeks
What you can safely park for now
And how to build a calm, confident foundation from day one

Because a settled dog learns far better than a stressed one — and the same goes for owners too.

If you’ve recently welcomed a new dog (or are about to), this will help you start on the right foot.

Slow it down. Keep it simple. Build it right. đŸŸ

Good training doesn’t start with tricks. It starts with foundations.

Before advanced recall.
Before off-lead freedom.
Before complex commands.

There are basics that every dog needs to understand clearly.

I’ve refreshed one of my core training blogs covering:

Why solid foundations matter

The building blocks of reliable obedience

Common mistakes that slow progress

And how to train in a way that builds confidence, not confusion

Training isn’t about control.
It’s about communication.

If you want calmer walks, better focus, and a dog that understands what’s expected, this is a great place to start 👇

Consistency. Clarity. Patience.
That’s where real progress happens.

Be honest
have you ever thought, “Why is my dog being so naughty?”

They listen perfectly at home.
Then outside?
Selective hearing activated.

Before you label it stubbornness
 here’s something important:

Most dogs aren’t being naughty.
They’re confused.

Different environments feel completely different to them.
The park isn’t just "outside" – it's distractions, smells, movement, excitement
and your training has to compete with all of that.

I’ve written a new blog explaining the following:

- Why dogs seem to “forget” what they know

- What’s really happening when they ignore cues

- And how to fix it calmly (without frustration or shouting)

If this sounds familiar, this one’s worth a read.

Because better understanding leads to better training — and much less stress on both ends of the lead.

You’re not imagining it. Your dog really is brilliant at home. They sit. They stay. They come when called. They look at you like you’re the centre of their universe.

đŸ¶ Let’s get one thing straight
you’re not “bad” at dog training.

Most training problems I see aren’t caused by stubborn dogs -
They’re caused by very common, very human mistakes.

The good news?
They’re easy to fix - and you don’t need shouting, stress, or harsh methods to do it.

I’ve just published a brand-new blog covering:

the most common training mistakes owners make

why they happen

and how to fix them calmly, clearly, and kindly

If training sometimes feels overwhelming, frustrating, or like you’re “doing it wrong”

This blog will help you breathe out and go “Ahhh
 that makes sense.” 😌

Training should build confidence - for you and your dog.
Let’s make it calmer, clearer, and a lot more enjoyable đŸŸ

đŸŸ Who’s a good boy? (Spoiler: all of them on a walk.) đŸŸ

We all know dogs need walks

But did you know that a daily walk does far more than just burn off energy?

From better physical health 🐕
to mental stimulation 🧠
to calmer behaviour and a stronger bond ❀

Walking your dog is one of the simplest - and most powerful - things you can do for their well-being and your own.

I’ve just refreshed one of my most popular blogs, breaking down ten real, practical benefits of walking your dog, based on years of hands-on experience.

If you’ve ever wondered:

“Am I walking them enough?”

“Why does my dog seem calmer after a walk?”

“Does walking actually help behaviour?”

This one’s for you 👇
