Over the moon to be on the winning Castlehill team, qualifying for the National Dressage Championships. I was very lucky to get the ride of the magnificent Daisy Duke, and be coached regularly by her owner, Lindsey Ilona Brady❤️❤️
Also super proud of Railings born and bred Sarah Quinn, who is also on the team with her gorgeous rescue mare, Pippa.
Shout out to our other teammates, Eithne O’Hanrahan of Milltown Stables , and Rebecca Matthews 🙌 We have team training booked with Lindsey at Milltown for later this month 🤩🤩

There is lots I am intimidated by, but big personality ponies who communicate and won’t just do it my way is not one of them 🤣 I make videos sometimes for owners who are trying to understand their horse, and the odd time I’ll share it!
I don’t have a plan, this guy is telling me exactly how to work with him and I am only too happy to listen to him 🥰 He has appaloosa in him, and any of those I have met have been very similar. I knew I was in for a treat when I saw his Appaloosa eyes 🥰🥰 Hopey also has Appaloosa in her and had what was seen as ‘problematic behaviour’ but was very much a work with me and I’ll give you the world kind of girl 🥰

Stretchy work! I do it with almost every horse! In the warm up, in the cool down and plenty of times in between! I also like to use it to relieve tension / anxiety after a horse has got worked up about something being asked. I have been using it with the lovely Poppy at her own yard after making corrections in canter, to bring her back to a relaxed state, ready to try again after each effort. Her nose could be a bit further out, which I only spotted after seeing this video. Something to improve for next time!

Ah yes 💯 The issue of regurgitating…

Whether you are the instructor or the instructed and you want to learn, keep asking questions of yourself and of those presenting as knowledgeable.. What I have experienced when doing this, (depending on who I’m asking) is sometimes getting another piece of the puzzle for myself, which is AMAZING!!
And at other times, being shouted at and belittled with comments which are intended to deflect from the issue that the instructor / coach may not actually understand the concept they are teaching.
None of us know everything and we should all be open to learning, but we as riders / instructors / anyone who wants to learn, need to be comfortable with questioning things to be able to understand more.
