🐈 Rehoming Appeal - Dexter 🐈

Say hello to Dexter, a handsome ginger-and-white boy with a heart as warm as his coat. At around 18 months old, Dexter is a sweet and affectionate young cat who loves human company and can't wait to find a home of his own.

Once a stray, Dexter is now ready for his fresh start. He's looking for a loving home where he can be the only pet, soaking up all the love and attention from his new family.

If you have space in your heart (and your garden!) for this lovely boy, please get in touch. Dexter is ready to start his new life filled with comfort, care, and love.

🐈🐈Cat being ‘bullied’ by neighbour’s cat🐈🐈

It’s not uncommon for owners to tell us ‘my cat is being bullied by another cat’. When your cat is out and about in the world, they might run into other cats.

If your cat has established their territory, they can find it very stressful dealing with an intruder.

Usually when two strange cats come face to face, they will give each other space to avoid conflict. But occasionally, some cats are confrontational and will stand their ground.

Signs that your cat is stressed because of a neighbourhood cat are things like spending time staring out of the window or through their cat flap, and problem behaviours such as going to the toilet in inappropriate places. They may also be reluctant to go outside in case they run into the other cat.

Please check your sheds before locking them due to cats being locked in!

Cats are curious creatures, and they love to explore. Unfortunately, this can sometimes lead them into dangerous situations like getting locked in sheds.

Every year, thousands of cats are accidentally locked in sheds, garages, and other outbuildings. Some of these cats are rescued, but many others starve or dehydrate to death.

That's why checking your shed before you lock it is important, especially if you have a cat. Even if you don't think your cat is in there, it's always better to be safe than sorry.

Here are a few tips for checking your shed:

👉Open the door and look inside carefully. Pay special attention to dark corners and places your cat might be hiding.
👉Call your cat's name and shake a bag of treats. If your cat is in the shed, they should come running.
👉If you can't see or hear your cat, try turning on a light or making some noise. This may scare them out of hiding.
👉If you find your cat locked in the shed, let them out immediately and provide them with food and water. If your cat seems injured or ill, take them to the vet.

By checking your shed before you lock it, you can help prevent your cat from becoming one of the thousands of cats accidentally locked in each year.

Please share this post to raise awareness about this important issue.
