Every year we help more than 500 cats in a variety of ways. We do all the obvious things including: Re-homing strays, unwanted pets and cats that cannot stay with their owners often for heartbreaking reasons. We help them in ways such as: fostering these cats and kittens until a suitable home is found, advising people about various cat related matters, taking cats to the vet for treatment or check

ups, fundraising to support our activities, advertise cats who are lost or found help to reunite lost cats with their owners.

While using some products is unavoidable, you can make small swaps which are safer for your cat:

🐈‍⬛ Many pet shops sell household cleaners that are safe for pets (and still do the job)

🐈‍⬛You don’t always need harsh chemicals – scourers can help you to remove stubborn dirt with a bit of elbow grease.

🐈‍⬛Vinegar and baking soda can be a great homemade cleaner and is really effective

🐈‍⬛Wash your cat’s bedding on a hot wash rather than relying on chemical cleaners

🤝 It’s National Handshake Day!

Today is all about friendly greetings and making paws-itive connections – and at Woking Cats Protection, we think the best “handshakes” involve a gentle paw tap or a slow blink from a feline friend.

If one of our rescue cats has ever “shaken paws” with you, we’d love to see it – share your favourite photo or story in the comments and help us celebrate the special bond between humans and cats.

We love a happy ending, and Bob’s is a special one.

Bob came to us as a stray and was quite feisty at first, unsure of people and his new surroundings. After being moved into a calm space and given time, patience, and understanding, he began to show his true nature.

Before long, he transformed into a complete love bug who adores a lap and plenty of fuss.Fast forward a year, and just look at him now.

We recently received this lovely update from his adopter, Claire:

“Somehow we’ve had one year with our darling fluff ball. He is just a dream, thank you again for trusting us with him.”

Stories like Bob’s remind us how much a little patience and kindness can change a life.

Thank you to Claire for giving Bob the loving home he truly deserves, and for allowing us to share these wonderful photos.

☀️ It's even hotter today, Woking! Make sure your furry family members stay hydrated this weekend! 🐱💧

Cats can be fussy drinkers, so here are a few simple tricks to encourage them to lap up more water on days like today:

✅ Keep their water clean, fresh and topped up throughout the day
✅ Place their water bowl away from their food bowl — cats prefer this in the wild!
✅ Use a glass, ceramic or metal bowl rather than plastic
✅ Choose a wide bowl so their sensitive whiskers don't touch the sides
✅ Dot extra bowls around the house and garden so water is always within easy reach

Dehydration in cats can sneak up quickly in warm weather, so a little effort today could make a big difference to your kitty's health! 🐾

Today’s TNR mission 🐾🐾🐾

Our community TNR (Trap–Neuter–Return) volunteer is out on the ground today making a huge difference for local cats.

Four female cats from a colony are being trapped and taken to be neutered, which means no more endless litters for them.

There are also three kittens in the same area that we’re aiming to trap so they can grow up safe, healthy, and loved instead of facing life on the streets.

Please send positive vibes for today’s trapping mission
