Poor Flash has been unwell for the last week or so.
He’s a tough little thing with such a brave heart, it really wasn’t apparent there was much wrong.
The main problem was an intermittent cough, he was a bit quieter than usual but not much else going on.
Bloods and CT scans revealed an unexpected diagnosis of peritonitis and inflammation in his abdomen. More than likely a complication of the grass seed last year.
He’s been on antibiotics for nearly a week and is looking much more like his usual self.
The plan is to continue antibiotics and repeat bloods and CT scan in a few weeks.
All I can say is ‘it’s no wonder I’m going grey!’

In class this week, the puppies were learning to go through the door calmly. There’s so much value in this exercise.
If you can teach your puppy to leave the house with a calm energy, you will be setting the tone for a calm and controlled walk.
If you let your puppy pull you through the door, don’t be surprised if your walk has the same energy 😉
There is another important concept we’re teaching here. By teaching a puppy to wait at the door, we’re teaching patience and self control. It’s a good thing to teach a puppy to wait for what they want (in this case, going through the door)
