Came in for chemical castration ♥️

Chemical castration offers a reversible, non-surgical option for male dogs, preventing breeding and reducing certain hormonal behaviors without the risks of anesthesia. The main drawbacks are that it is temporary, requires repeat treatments every 6-12 months, can be expensive over time, and may have side effects like weight gain, coat changes, or, rarely, unexpected behavioral changes.

There are pros and cons to castrating dogs and it’s not always the best option for some dogs. For example if they are very nervous taking away their testosterone can make their behaviour worse. It’s always best to have pre-neuter checks with the team to have this conversation to discuss what options are best for your pet. ❤️

🐾 Rosie 🐾

This little lady came in to be spayed. She was looked after by vet Olivia and RVN Amy. 🥰

There are many benefits and reasons to neuter such as
🐾 Responsible population control, reduces unwanted litters
🐾 Reduces behavioural problems such as fighting, spraying and wandering
🐾 Health benefits such as a Pyometra (infection of the womb) and reduced risk of certain cancers.

In house training 🖊️

We carried out CPR training as a team. In a crash situation it is very stressful and on going training and constant learning helps everyone understand roles within the team. It helps things run as smoothly and ensures we are giving the best care possible.

We ran CPR simulations including how to do compressions, giving breaths, medication needed and key roles.
