Came in for chemical castration ♥️
Chemical castration offers a reversible, non-surgical option for male dogs, preventing breeding and reducing certain hormonal behaviors without the risks of anesthesia. The main drawbacks are that it is temporary, requires repeat treatments every 6-12 months, can be expensive over time, and may have side effects like weight gain, coat changes, or, rarely, unexpected behavioral changes.
There are pros and cons to castrating dogs and it’s not always the best option for some dogs. For example if they are very nervous taking away their testosterone can make their behaviour worse. It’s always best to have pre-neuter checks with the team to have this conversation to discuss what options are best for your pet. ❤️
