Storms can affect more than just dogs—𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙨 can experience stress, even if it’s not immediately obvious.

While some animals show clear signs of distress during a storm, others may seem fine at the time but display delayed signs of stress in the days that follow.
- This can include increased reactivity, restlessness, or difficulty coping with their usual routines.
It’s important to monitor all animals closely after severe weather and support them as they recover—regardless of species.

This!!!

We all know heat is risky for dogs—but humidity is the silent one. 🫣

I’ve seen dogs struggle on days that weren’t hot, just humid. It’s a reminder that checking the weather means more than glancing at the temperature. 🥵

Dogs don’t sweat like we do, so high humidity makes it harder for them to cool down. Even a mild day can become dangerous if the air’s too heavy. 💧

As professionals, it’s on us to adjust our plans when needed. The dogs in our care rely on us to make those calls, even if it means a shorter walk or swapping to an indoor enrichment day.

🐕 It’s something I always factor in before walks, outdoor sessions, or any physical activity. Worth passing on to clients too—especially those with brachycephalic breeds or older dogs. So please SHARE!!

Want to say a massive thank you to Chestfield Barn for hosting us and our owners who attended our workshop today
This is a fantastic venue! Do check them out!

All the dogs were amazing, and had a lovely time socialising, learning calmness,the timing of rewards and everything in between and honestly we had just a great time chatting over a drink ☕️to like minded people who just love their dogs! 🐶

Can’t wait for next one 🥹

Hello Everyone! hoopers is making a return!

Firstly I would like to thank every single one of you who’ve been waiting for our return!

Last year was nothing but short of traumatic for me personally and unfortunately classes did take a back seat.
As you know Hoof&Paws services outside of our classes have ran as normal but we are ready to enjoy the fun and love of hoopers again! And hopefully see you all return!

You may have seen on our socials I have been running a few classes in Thanet theses will continue with the lovely Lizzy from and I am running a hoopers workshop in August too in Thanet.

however we will still be at our original beautiful venue in blean for Hoopers from July and hopefully few more things in the future!

We will be looking to open sessions both 1-1 and groups in July fortnightly to offer everyone more stability! Once our baby birds fledge who’s taken residences at the moment 🙂

We plan to do fortnightly Saturday sessions. So current schedule will be on the events (as stands: Friday night variety of classes in Thanet, Saturday every fortnight , mornings blean) and then we have all the fun academy stuff in between at: www.hoof-paws.co.uk/academy
