August is the month of FUN for all our adorable pets. Beautiful hot weather always challenges pet ownership. Pets should be given the opportunity to be outside and have some fun but also given lots of shade at the same time. We have a lovely range of willow and plastic houses to give shade to rabbits and guinea pigs; along with toys that can be put in the freezer for you dogs…. There’s plenty of choice for toys for cats and dogs in store.. Statistically toys for cats are bought the least, which makes way for sad and depressed pets.

JULY is all about T R A V E L at AJ's Pet Store. When people go on holiday there are many things other than swimwear and sunglasses.

Holiday/Vacation feed for fish in ponds and aquariums, bedding and food for rabbits and guinea pigs; making sure that their pets are protected from fly strike (which can kill). Friends and neighbours can be relied on to feed your pets but perhaps not check the rear ends for any eggs laid… Yep, Yuk!

However, if you’re taking your dogs on holiday you may need a tie out chain, a cooling jacket for the journey in the car; a car harness that is fitted properly. We have many items for travelling with your pets, even if it’s just to drop them off at kennels or Catteries or a day out at the seaside.

We are as ever here to answer your questions, make sure you purchase what is suitable for your pets’ requirements and assure you of our continued devotion to our customers’ pets.

JUNE is Feeding/Drinking and Cooling

There are many reasons which should be considered when buying a bowl, feeder or drinker for any pets. It can be size or the type of food the pet eats, for example.

Issues can arise from having an incorrect bowl at an incorrect height and at AJ’s, we have plenty of experience to offer any owners who need assistance to decide what’s best for them:: It’s not just the colour! Although that’s important too.

Feeding bowls can also help with separation anxiety, slowing the speed of eating plus many others issues.

We have included cooling in with our bowls as bowls can be used to give instant enthusiasm for aiding cooling(not just drinking water)

MAY IS POND MONTH

What a wonderful way to start May this year! The sun is shining and for those of you who have ponds in your garden … it’s time to do some Spring clean and general maintenance.

We, at AJ’s Pet Store, have been supplying the local area with Pond treatments for over 24 years. For some, it can be a minefield …. But with our range of Tetra and Blagdon products, healthy ponds couldn’t be easier.

Yes, we sell ponds pellets and sticks loose too - bring in your plastic tub and we will happily fill it, if you want - we do sell fish food in small packets up to great big sacks.

We have an array of products some of which are in the photos but always come in and ask!
