☀️ Rach and Molly’s top tip for keeping cool in the office, eat as many ice-creams as they can! 🍦

Some tips from our team to help keep their horses cool in this weather are:

- Providing as much shade as possible whether inside or outside
- Plenty of fresh, clean and cool water
- Cool water hosing

Molly has also set up an apple bobbing station! 🍏

What are you doing to help keep your equines cool?
Any tips for us to try?

Attention ‼️🦠 EQUINE FLU 🦠

Some of you may already have seen in the equine news or Equine Infectious Disease Surveillance group about the increase in equine influenza (flu) outbreaks being reported across the south of England in April 2026.

We haven’t heard of any new cases in Cornwall (yet 🙈) but it is a stark reminder that our horses are at risk
😷🦠‼️

We can protect our beloved equines easily through vaccination and diligent biosecurity 💉💦🫧

If you are out and about with your horses, please take care to avoid close contact with others and if you have any new horses arriving on your yard remember to quarantine them ⛔️

As ever, we are always happy to discuss any concerns or questions you may have ❓☎️

Cute, curious & very healthy youngster photo for attention!

🥲 Sad day for the Duchy Team yesterday as we say goodbye to our lovely vet Chloe 🥲

Chloe has worked so hard and been an absolute trooper 💪We will definitely miss her positive energy and of course her 3 characterful dogs!! 🐶🐾
We wish her lots of luck with her next chapter, back up in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

We are hoping to recruit another experienced vet soon, watch this space! 👀🤞

🐴 A small update to our appointment bookings…

Due to an increasing number of last-minute cancellations (usually weather-related… or “he was fine yesterday”), we’ll be introducing a new “horse confirmation” policy from next week.

Before attending routine appointments, we’ll now require a short video clip on the morning of your booking to confirm that:

• Your horse is still in the field
• They are catchable
• And ideally, at least mildly interested in participating

This will help us ensure our vets’ time is used as efficiently as possible—particularly during the busier spring period.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding… and look forward to reviewing your horses’ audition tapes🐴

Thank you as always for your continued support,

The Duchy Equine Team ❤️
