💫🌟✨ as our little practice continues to grow we are on the lookout for a new admin superstar to join our team! 🤩🌟✨

We are initially looking for someone to work part time (2-3 days per week, days and hours negotiable) to help Beccy & Rachel in the office, near Grampound Road.

Experience of equine/veterinary terminology, excellent customer service skills, the ability to successfully multi-task, a willingness to learn and use your own initiative are important to us.

In return, we promise to look after you and any equines you may have, like you are part of our family 🐴🥰

🐥It’s nearly Easter!! 🍫
That’s if we don’t get washed away with this torrential rain! 😭☔️💧💧

Just a little reminder that our office will be closed on Friday 18th & Monday 21st April so that Beccy & Rachel can devour all of their chocolate & Easter eggs! 🤣😋

If you are in need of any medicines before the long weekend, please can you let us know asap. 🙏

We have lots of lovely mares due to foal over the next couple of months, but how ready are you…🤔

Get banking some sleep before the big day (or night), trust us, you are going to need it! 😴💤🥱

A few foaling kit essentials that are good to have on hand -

Long gloves
Clean scissors ✂️
Tail bandage
Bag to collect placenta in
Clean towel 🛁
Umbilical dip & clamp in case needed

Clean jug & bucket 🪣

We’ve already had a couple of conjunctivitis cases this week 👀 so be sure to dig your fly masks out of hibernation this weekend if you haven’t already!

The weather may be on the turn but we have to stay positive that it will be glorious again soon 🤞🤞🤞🤞🕶️☀️

😈👹👿Has your mare turned in to a devious devil?! 😈 👹👿

This change in weather and day length has certainly shaken up the hormones of lots of mares and we’ve had reports of many being very teasy! 😩😬🤦🏻‍♀️🐴

Try not to panic, many of them are just transitioning to get ready for the natural breeding season so hopefully normal behaviour will be resumed soon (chart courtesy of NAF)🤞

🫏💙 we are so excited to welcome baby Sammy to Flicka 💙💙💙

You may already have seen him making his debut on BBC spotlight! 🎥

His brave mum, Finty featured with us on the Yorkshire Vet programme at Christmas but she kept her little passenger secret for a very long time 🫏🫏

So, if you are at a loose end with what to do, this lovely Mother’s Day weekend ☀️why not pop down to Flicka to see this gorgeous bundle of cuteness and be treated to, or treat your mum with some yummy cake and a Sammy cuddle! 🍰

🐴 A great night was hopefully had by all at our laminitis meeting last night 🤞😃
Huge thanks to our guest speaker, Simon Moore for delivering a very informative presentation on first aid for laminitis cases and the amazing remedial options now available.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, the Duchy Team for their sterling efforts and Dechra for the yummy cakes and snacks!! 😋

✏️‼️The take home message was that laminitis is PREVENTABLE 🤞‼️
We do however, need to manage our beloved equines strictly and if they show any signs of risk of laminitis, act quickly.
We are only ever a phone call away if you are unsure 🤔

📞🐴☎️🫏 Please can we politely ask that if you would like us to care for your horse, pony or donkey, that you call to register during office hours rather than if you need us at the weekend.

It makes it very complicated with Duty of Care regulations when registering out of hours.

and our weekend, feline admin assistants are not very helpful! 🙈🐈
