⛔️ 🗣️🗣️2025 CHALLENGE REVEALED 🗣️🗣️‼️

This year marks 10 years of the team embarking on challenges to raise funds for charities initially before the last 2 years raising funds for our own charity .

So 100 miles for each year gave us the number of 1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ miles .

Sunday 17th August - Sunday 31st August 2025

The team will be walking 🚶‍♂️ between 15-20 miles a day and cycling between 50-55 miles a day. 🚴‍♀️
1,000 over just 14 days through 4 different countries
🇳🇱 starting in Holland
🇧🇪 touring through Belgium
🇫🇷 before entering France
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 then heading back to England to the finish line
📍 Colliery Lane Lodges

The team this year will have 1 day off whilst on challenge in Dunkirk to pay respects at the Normandy beaches .

An extremely busy week Finished off for now with a lovely meeting with a special orgnanisation , what an extremely busy week we’ve had at Miles for smiles .

Booked numerous family holidays
Booked days out for our families
Booked private intense physio therapy sessions for some of our children .

Had families away this week at our lovely Bainland Lodge Retreat’s .
Had a special family in 🇫🇷 at Disneyland Paris for the week .

South Derbyshire District Council chairs dinner last night where we was special guests being the local councils chosen charity where Maria and Chris had a lovely evening .

Alongside a normal working week of 40-50 hours plus at work for all of our trustee’s .

No sympathy wanted or needed because we love what we do just an insight to what our normal week looks like , a charity ran by a few unsalaried trustee’s who all work full time and run Miles for smiles in every bit of spare time we have 😀

First up we have
Alice Clason who will be lacing her boxing gloves up to fight in the UWCB show on Saturday 26th April 🥊

Second up the day after we have
Tom Dytham running the London marathon for us , Tom’s the first runner to ever do the London marathon for MFS . 🏃🏼‍♂️

Third up we have
Scarlett richardson aged just 11
She will be covering a minimum of 15,000 steps every day through out June and also every weekend in June swimming 65 lengths on the Saturday and Sunday.🏊

Looks like Jaxon will be the happier brother at the end of this season , but I’m sure it won’t be long before Jayden’s city are back on top .

We are truly blown away by young Scarlett’s efforts in fundraising for us .

This is what she had to say 👇

This year will be trying to push myself, I will be doing 15,000 steps or more a day and swimming twice a week 65 lengths in 1 hour so 130 lengths over the two days, one day will be a Sunday, the other day is yet to be decided. I will be doing this challenge from the 1st June till the 30th June.

I am wanting to raise money for the wonderful charity miles for smiles- they help so many different families and one in particular close to our hearts.

15,000 steps a day for 30 days 🚶

520 lengths of swimming over 8 days 🏊

A small clip of the incredible Dan Budd as Robbie Williams who many of you may of seen at our festival last year 🤩
Im glad to say we have him back this year and he will be performing so much later on in the evening .
He looks like Robbie ,
he sounds like him ,
he brings even more energy . 🕺

For any of you that have seen Dan Budd you will know he’s the best UK tribute band to Robbie Williams .

Along side Dan we have 3 other amazing UK leading tribute acts which we will continue to post over the coming weeks . Alongside some of the best local talent and the day is being hosted by the best entertainer and compare there is in The Marc Bolton Show.

What an evening we had Friday night at our sold out first ever quiz night in partnership with South Derbyshire District Council.

We raised a huge £735 from the evening so thankyou very much to everyone that came along and supported the evening , we hope you all enjoyed it .

A huge congratulations to the winning team “No clue crew “ seems the name was a bit misleading 😁

Big thankyou to Jennifer from the council for all her help in planning and support on the evening .

John Smart for being our superb quiz master .

Sarah miller for helping run the night and marking all your answers .

The Jennings' Rooms for letting us use their amazing venue .

Great entertainment during the breaks and to finish the night off from Boss&Co

We hope you all enjoyed it and we’re looking at putting 2 of these evenings on a year .

The next one will be in October date to be confirmed in due course .

Last year we was contacted by Chris Fisher who had put us forward for support from Barratt Homes through their Barratt Foundation .

Last Sunday our Maria and Jordan visited a local David Wilson Homes site Drakelow park where they met sales manager Leanne for a few pictures being presented with a cheque of £1,500 in one of their stunning show homes .

We couldn’t be more grateful to Chris for putting us forward and the support from the Barratt Foundation , your support will make a huge difference to a small charity like ourselves as we continue to provide the care support and love to our families and organisations .

Continuing Our support in the local community to organisations ❤️

So this afternoon Callum & Codi went to see Lyn the chair lady of Special Needs Circle - East Midlands where we presented them with a cheque for £2,500. This is to help with the yearly rent to keep the amazing place open .

You may recall last year we supported them with a room adaptation and also a donation of £5,000 .

This year they came to us for support towards the yearly rent and we’re happy to be in a position to help keep these facilities open to the local community because what they do is just fantastic . There also ran by all volunteers with no one salaried within the group which also makes this group of ladies running the organisation so much more special .
