Wood water weave month 7 was a culmination of all our new found knowledge of technique and materials with the remit of 'two hoops'. We spent a while sketching designs and I had problems narrowing it down to one but I kept being drawn back to this split wood take on the 'ose' or hen basket.
So I made it!
Two hazel hoops, chestnut ribs, oak splints and handle wrapped in ash splint. Lots of things I would do better but I'm pretty pleased with it.
My fellow www pals made some AMAZING baskets but I completely forgot about taking any photos apart from this one at the end .
So here's a video of my Jess dog in the woods this morning on deer and squirrel patrol. Sound on for the full experience. You are welcome 😊
Thanks to and for being most excellent basket midwives. Xx
