Many of our followers will have seen the post from Amy Lee at Rescue Kitties giving examples of the online threats and abuse she and her family have been subjected to this week. The posts are sickening, and we hope the police take action .

We have worked with Amy on many occasions, and seen first hand her dedication to the cats in her care and her commitment to keeping RK afloat under very difficult circumstances.

She and her team have saved hundreds of cats and kittens over the years, and the attacks from these trolls are an absolute disgrace.

Let’s hope that RK will keep going, and Amy is able to have a well earned rest .

Sending our love and support to Amy & the RK team.

Kittens …..
We are going to post photos of the babies in our care , as we know our supporters love to see them grow up.

However, while we all look at these tiny babies and enjoy watching the general kitten craziness as they start to run around, the sad reality is that they are being born outside, or to families who don’t want them and seek to “ get rid” as soon as possible.

Some of the phone calls and emails we receive are just heartbreaking. Many callers are angry that the female cat they acquired as a cute kitten is now pregnant or has produced kittens, despite having made no effort whatsoever to have her neutered. Several are annoyed with us for not immediately offering to step in and take the “ problem” off their hands , and far too many will demand that we go and collect the cat. They can’t even make the effort to put her in a carrier and bring her to us.

We have had examples of callers stating they want to keep a kitten from the new litter, but “ get rid of” the Mum and the other kittens - or some who are seeking homes for babies who are barely 4/5 weeks old.

Just distressing.

Please , please help us to spread the neuter message locally - especially in Levenshulme where there are so many cats without proper care.

We recently offered 5 spay/ neuters for £10 each which was quickly taken up, but we can’t repeat this as the cost to us is so high.

We need people to take responsibility for ensuring that their cat can’t keep having litters of kittens , and stop this horrific cycle of pregnant females being kicked out as soon as their condition is obvious. Don t get a kitten if you cannot afford to neuter!!

Rescues are full: and we don’t have the funds to neuter on an effective scale.

The babies in our photos are fortunate in that their Mums will be spayed, and the little ones will have the best healthcare available. Others are not so lucky, and are left outside in a terrible state: many will not survive.

This is our beautiful Willow with her newborns.

We were so worried about this little one, who is not old enough to be having kittens. No one had bothered to neuter her, and she was allowed to roam outside regardless of the risk of pregnancy.

Willow managed to deliver all 5 large kittens with minimal support, and has proved to be an amazing Mum . The second any baby squeaks, she rushes over to pull them close to her , and they are all gaining weight with no feeding intervention from us at all. So proud of her!

There are 3 boys: Oakley, Rowan and Ash and 2 girls, Laurel and Elowen. All absolutely beautiful 💕💙

Please no enquiries for this litter: they are only 3 weeks old and will not be available for adoption until they are 13 weeks and fully vaccinated.

New into Rescue are our little flowers:
Mum Violet & her 2 baby boys Sprout and Bud and 2 girls Rose and Aster.

Violet was living as a stray , and had her babies under decking in someone s garden. Luckily, the owner helped them , and we have been plotting a rescue for some time! The owner had ensured the little family was well fed and safe , so they seem healthy & will now be cared for by us and all of them found forever homes.

Please no enquiries about this litter: they are only six weeks old and won’t be available until July when they are 12 weeks & fully vaccinated.
