These girls are forever in heart❤❤❤
This Changed My Life❤
In brief, Tellington TTouch Method. When I accidently found TTouch in 1999, I didn't know what the workshop was I was going to, apart from one thing... They use kind methods with no force or fear. This wasn't as common place back then.
I enjoyed the workshop, revelling in the good company and massive understanding of the dogs present, but I have quite an analytical mind and wondered how it worked. So I went home and did my own little experiment.
We had just started to foster two lurchers, due to be PTS where they were, but they didn't have another rescue place available, so they came to us. They were both in poor condition, but the older girl, in particular, was in poor physical health, unbalanced walking, swayed when she stood, a dull staring coat, underweight. So I spent, about 10 minutes a day, when she wanted it, doing some TTouch with her, when no-one else was around, so I could see if others saw changes in her, and I wanted to see how it helped her.
I noticed positive changes within a week, but when you live with a dog, you don't always see the changes, or at least doubt yourself. After a couple of weeks, a visitor came and commented on Freckles - how her coat, movement and balance had all improved.
I didn't know the how or the why, but this was awesome! I booked onto the practitioner training and haven't looked back. In the picture below, the dog on the back left is Freckles, the one on the right, Blossom who came to us with Freckles. Their fearless leader is Peggy, who accompanied me to many of my TTouch trainings and was a wonderous soul, brave and tenatious.
The majority of the dogs (and their humans) I work with are reactive, scared, anxious dogs, who need understanding, guidance and help to live their best lives. using TTouch techniques this is what we can do.
I will always be forever grateful to Linda Tellington-Jones and Robyn for their teachings over the years and the our own dogs have benefitted massively through what I have learnt from these wonderful human teachers - but not forgetting our canine teachers, who teach us the most, if we are receptive to listening to them. In TTouch we have a saying 'Listen to the whispers so they don't need to shout'
