Four Teams from It’s All About The Nose Tracking and Trailing, were out and about in the Bluebells on Wednesday the 20th May. So not only did we miss last weeks scorching weather we saw the bluebells in all the glory
Teams Dylan, Molly Gunner and Bruce, all completed lovely trails involving junctions and turns. Team Bruce were working on confidence building, he’s nice and steady and accurate. Dylan, is incredibly keen and his handler has worked really hard getting him to focus and its clearly paying off.
Team Gunner is steady, and accurate he’s lovely to watch adding tracking to his skills has only enhanced his work.
Molly the pocket rocket, adding tracking to her skill set has helped to reduce the spaniel zoomies. This means she’s not wasting energy on the track she’s now more focused
At the end of the session
3 teams completed United Canine Scent Sport mini league assessments
with teams Molly and Dylan passing Rural 4
Team Gunner passing Rural 1
well done everyone

Friday was all about the Boys…Ralph, Ellwood, Otis and Zanzi
All the handlers had elected to start the session early. in view of the warm weather forcasted.
They were also extremely efficient in track/trail laying..this meant as soon as one team had finished the next was ready to go…This meant that as well as nice long trails we were able to finish off with split trails
The venue can be challenging with dog walkers and pedestrians. All the teams coped really well with the contaminated trails.
The split trails allowed us to work on our indication with nice controlled sits
Well done everyone. A great morning for all

Friday saw 5 teams from It’s All About The Nose Tracking and Trailing out and about in the spring sunshine
Teams Kizzy and Solly completed an introduction to tracking and trailing, both dogs were absolutely brilliant. They took to it like ducks to water.
Meanwhile, teams Kai, Evie and Dexter, had longer trails moving from grass to tarmac and back again. The trails were various ages and they encountered pedestrians on the trail. To finish they did a very short trail with a decoy. They were fabulous
well done everyone

On Monday 5 teams from It’s All About The Nose Tracking and Trailing. Teams Mollie, Molly, Dylan, Gunner and Blu. Were out and about in the sunshine tracking and trailing around the castile. They completed switch backs/s trails, used the boardwalk and cut across the moat using the little bridges.
All teams did really well. The confidence of both the handlers and the dogs has increased so much. They were tracking past the cafe other dogs and pedestrians without batting an eyelid
Well done everyone.
I was a super morning for us all

Good Friday, was extremely Good for the 4 teams from It’s All About The Nose Tracking and Trailing.
Teams Ellwood, Ralphie, Molly and Evie went on an Easter Bunny Hunt. (no bunnies were harmed).
All the teams are at different skill levels with little Evie and her handler being the least experienced team. They all coped beautifully with the wide open spaces and swirling winds. To find Bunnies, Hidden Trail Layers and jackpot rewards
Well doneeveryone

Prior to all the excitment of crufts 4 handlers and 6 dogs got together for some tracking and trailing
The session started with match to sample
The teams Dylan, Molly, Gunner, Eden, Casper and Blu all had different goals to work on
Eden needs a quiet environment so indoors was ideal for her
Molly‘s goals were more trailing based as she finds urban environments more challenging, we saw a massive step forward with less environmental sniffing and peeing on the trail
Gunner all ways a steady worker can turn his paw to most things adding tracking to his repertoire has enhanced is accuracy no end ….even with a scary cat on the trail
Casper takes a little while to get his head into gear, but this time is getting less and less and he’s coming along leaps and bounds
Dylan, has really taken to the tracking element. It has given him more focus calmed him down on the trail and is really showing off what he can do
Young Blu is a little star willing to try his paw at anything, exercises to slow him down so that he has to think rather than charge in really work for him
What a great day we all had

Yesterday saw 3 teams out and about doing some urban tracking and trailing in a new venue. (unfortunately we lost a team due to car problems)
The sun was out and although it was cold it was a lovely bright clear day
Team Ellwood and Zanzi are more experienced dogs who rose to the challenge of this venue with entries and exits, changes in sunlight and shaded areas. Cross trails and back trails.
They were super
Team Dexter is a young dog at the beginning of his tracking and trailing journey, It’s only his 2nd session on hard ground. As such the trails were less complex but still steady progress, along the side of buildings. His final trail was a bit of a reward trail with the last section on grass, to ensure we maintain his enthusiasm

Team Zanzi out for the count after his morning
