Walks With Max Are you looking for help with your dogs training? Is your child suffering with cynophobia; fear of dogs? Hi, I'm Ellie. Welcome to Walks With Max.

I am fully certified with the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers and PAWS Therapy . Fully insured, CRB checked, certifications and First Aid trained. I specialise in Animal Assisted Interventions (AAI), which means my trained therapy dog, Max, and I work with young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities, providing practical activities with the aim of helping with their EHCP goals.

We are certified with PAWS – we have undergone extensive training, including an official assessment, to get where we are. The AAI services Max and I offer include helping young people with certain needs in schools, but also working with those who have a phobia of dogs (cynophobia). Furthermore, we follow an approved programme to ensure the best service is provided. There are several benefits to having a therapy dog in schools (and other similar places). Such benefits include:
- Reduction of stress and anxiety – the presence of animals tends to have a significant calming effect
- Promotion of healing and emotional well being
- Emotional growth and support
- Improvement of social skills and relationship building
- Improves cognitive development
- The calming effect can also lead to behavioural improvements
- Encourages social interaction and communication
Alongside this, I am qualified and approved with the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT) – assessed to a high standard on both dog and people skills – and so am able to offer dog training on a one to one basis, if requested.

Both super quick learners, we had a really fun 1-2-1.

They have a lovely family, that want to help them with a couple of things that worry them.
We were going to work with one at a time, but big sis decided the games we were playing were way too fun, not to join in 😄🥰

This tiny little cutie is one of the fastest learners I've ever come across!
She is an absolute gem!
Not quite 1yr old, within 3 mins of me being there she had already figured out half of what it was we were looking for!
She loves to let her family know when there is a person nearby, she just couldn't figure out how or when to stop letting them know! Now she knows exactly what to do, and even patiently waited for her family to catch up to her level! 🤭❤️❤️
Absolutely adore her and can't wait for next time! 🥰🐾

This little lady is blowing me away! ❤️🤩
She's been working so hard at chilling and processing!
We are still taking things super slow. She gives beautiful signals when she's finding things a little tricky, so we move and make it easier for her. Her fabulous mum has really taken on board how to spot those first little signs, and helps our little lady out straight away.
Its been a joy to watch how much their bond has grown over the last few weeks. Magical 💫🥰❤️🐾

Meet my new little friend!
This beautiful little lady has found the world just a little bit too overwhelming so far.
Today was my 2nd visit with her; she was much happier to engage today. ❤️ We've put some confidence building games together for her.
Introduced some nice calming activities and we are slowly progressing with giving her time to process things. She is now starting to think before reacting. I can't believe how well she's taken to it and how fast she has picked things up! Very clever girl!
