We are a family run Pick Your Own Farm, Shop and Cafe located at the side of the Trent and Mersey Canal in Great Haywood - a beautiful part of Staffordshire. We are committed to sourcing high quality, food and drink from farms and producers within a 30 mile radius of our home, whilst continuing to produce our own fruit, garden vegetables and bedding plants right here on the Farm. nd, our Farm Shop offers a wide range of tasty products for all dietary needs; our Cafe serves home cooked seasonal meals from 'field to plate; our seasonal Plant Centre sells beautiful plants and hanging baskets lovingly nurtured in our own glass house; and we offer 'Pick Your Own' strawberries, raspberries and blackberries during summertime and pumpkins for Halloween! We have some lovely walks and cycle rides which start and finish on our farm, plus host a range of family events throughout the year from murder mystery suppers to creative nature based workshops.

🍻 FATHER’S DAY TREATS 🍻

As we enter June, we are starting to think about how we can treat those special Father figures in our lives.

This year, our Butchers have teamed up with our Bakers to create the ultimate foot-long Hot Dog - a delicious foot long Canalside Sausage sat inside a super soft Canalside Sub Roll (plain or Italian Herb) to take home & top with your favourite toppings.

The Butchery will also have a delicious 16oz Sirloin Steak available for just £14.

Both will be available in the Farm Shop from Friday 19th – Sunday 21st June.

We have even more Father’s Day goodies available from our Online Shop too.

🍻 FATHER'S DAY - BEER & BANGERS 🍻

Gather the family for an evening of great food, live music & a tipple for the grown ups!

This Father's Day we will be opening our Cafe into the evening for a BBQ out on the deck from 5.30pm-8pm. Bring the family & enjoy a burger or hot dog, loads of sides, a local beer or drink of your choice & some brilliant music from a local acoustic Father & Daughter Duo, singing covers of George Ezra, Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran and classics from The Beatles & Bon Jovi.

Adult tickets: £22
Child tickets: £12

Tickets include entry plus your food as listed above & one drink of your choice (it doesn't have to be a beer).
Additional drinks will be available to purchase on the night.

🌿 LAST WEEK OF THE PLANT CENTRE 🌿

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who has been down to support our Seasonal Plant Centre this year, you have definitely kept us busy!

The Plant Centre will be closing in the Glasshouse on Sunday 7th June, so if you’ve not had a chance to pop down & choose your plants for this year, now is the time!

There are still lots of beautiful plants to choose from including as pictured:

1. Starburst Pink Dahlias
2. Double Blue Ice Osteospermums
3. Lightning Sky Petunias
4. Sweet Blaze Gerberas

The best part is, these are all perennials so if you plant them now they will come back again year after year.

🐝 CHILDREN'S INTERACTIVE BEE WORKSHOP 🐝

SATURDAY 6TH JUNE AT 10AM

Join Gemma, lovely, local Bee Keeper and Expert for a buzzing good time & learn all about our fabulous bees!

During the workshop, children will enjoy the following activities:

🐝 Observe a real hive with bees, see what it’s like inside a bee hive, and try to spot the queen!

🐝 Become a beekeeper, try on beekeeping suits, and see how a beehive is built with our model hive.

🐝 Enjoy lots of fun BEE themed crafts and sensory play.

🐝 Plant some bee-friendly seeds, using compost and biodegradable pots (to take home).

🐝Make some beeswax rolled candles

£15 per child, this includes all materials & tuition. Adults must also please stay with children for the entire workshop.

All sessions are aimed at ages 4-11.

From 10am-4pm (last entry).

Head to the tills in the Farm Shop when you arrive to collect your punnets & pay your entry fee. You will then weigh & pay for any fruit picked here at the end too.

☀️ ENJOY DINING OUTDOORS THIS WEEKEND☀️

We reckon we have at least a couple more BBQs or al fresco meals before the weather turns on us!

So make them extra special with meat from our Butchery, sourdough from our Bakery & super duper sides from our Deli.

And if you don’t fancy cooking yourselves, on the Specials Menu in the cafe this weekend we will have a Canalside Farm Strawberry, Halloumi & Potato Bite Salad with a Balsamic Glaze. You can even wash it down with our new Cucumber & Mint Iced Tea out on the beautiful deck too.

We’re determined to make the most of these last few sunny days for a while - who’s with us?!

Thanks to the glorious sunshine we have been having this week our Hanging Baskets are now in full bloom, which means it is the perfect time for them to leave the extra warmth of our Glasshouse & head home to your garden or front door.

🍓 PICK YOUR OWN STRAWBERRIES OPENS FRIDAY 29TH MAY 🍓

Thanks to the beautiful sunny weather we have been having the last few days, our much anticipated Pick Your Own Strawberries Experience will open this Friday, the 29th May from 10am - 3pm.

Entry is £1.50 per person & children aged 2 & under enter for free.

Head out through the back of the Farm Shop to the Farm when you arrive to pay your entry fee & collect your punnets. You will then weigh & pay for any fruit that you have picked out on the Farm at the end.

We hope to be open Saturday & Sunday too but it will just depend on how busy we are on the first couple of days. Our website & social media will always have the most up to date information, so please check before you travel to us.

Whether you enjoy a bold red, a crisp white, a refreshing rosé or something sparkling, we’ve got a wonderful selection of wines from near and far to suit every palate.

We’re especially proud to stock wines from local supplier Grove Estate Vineyard in Eccleshall — just a few miles up the road AND Halfpenny Green Vineyard from Bobbington in Staffordshire too. Supporting local producers while enjoying a fantastic bottle… what could be better?

We also host regular sample days, giving you the chance to try before you buy and discover a new favourite and meet the people behind all the hard work that goes into producing GREAT English wines.
