Magnus πŸ₯°

When I first started working with Magnus, he was nervous, barky, and reactive around other dogs. He would bark at noises in the home, react when visitors arrived, and bark and lunge at dogs whilst out on walks.

His owners were keen to address these behaviours early and were fully committed to helping him feel more confident and secure.

Since our initial consultation, they have put everything we discussed into practice and it really shows. During his recent session, Magnus was able to meet and interact with another dog. What we saw wasn’t aggression, but uncertainty, and with the right support he was able to work through it brilliantly.

He finished the session having a lovely play with Suki and also met who I think may become his new bestie, Isla.

I’m incredibly proud of the progress this boy and his family have made and can’t wait to see how he continues to develop. His transformation has been amazing!

A recent consultation with this lovely boy and his owner highlighted some underlying nervousness, which had unintentionally been reinforced through everyday interactions by his owner. (It happens alot!)

By introducing more clarity, consistent boundaries, and confidence-building exercises for both dog and owner, our aim is to help Louie feel more secure and make calmer, more balanced decisions, following his owners lead.

Alongside this, we’ve started muzzle training to ensure Louie is comfortable and confident wearing one when needed, while also supporting our initial training steps around other dogs in a safe and positive way.

Looking forward to our next session!

Today we held our Loose Lead Walking & Recall Workshop, and, as usual, I was terrible at remembering to take photos πŸ™ˆ

We focused on the foundations of loose lead walking and reliable recall, looking at what motivates each dog, how to use that motivation as reinforcement, and ways to build engagement and motivation through play.

It was great to see both dogs and handlers making progress and growing in confidence throughout the session!

If your struggling with lead walking or recall pop over a message πŸ“© Or if you missed out on this workshop, keep your eyes peeled for our next one! πŸ‘€

Recall session for Strudel! πŸ’ͺ

Recall is something I strongly believe every dog should be taught and have to be let off lead. A reliable recall means the dog is safe and so is everyone around them!

No recall could mean;

❌️ Running into roads
❌️ Running up to unknown dogs
❌️ Chasing wildlife or livestock
❌️ Chasing unsuspecting people

This puts your dog, and others at risk.

We have gone back to basics with Strudels recall. We have popped her on a longline, so we can reinforce what we ask, and looked at the motivation linked to coming back. By the end of the session Strudel was flying back to her owners!

Need help with your recall? Pop a message! πŸ“©

Our 4 Week Gundog Course finished on Friday, and what a great bunch of dogs and handlers! 😁

The progress these guys made each week was fantastic to see! We covered many of the key foundations needed to begin gundog training, whether for working in the field or simply building essential gundog skills and control.

I hope to see some of these guys in our Monthly Club going forwards πŸ₯°

Keep your eyes peeled for our next 4 Week Course!
