⚠️‼️Shirley dog owners please be aware ⚠️‼️

We have had 3 cases of toxin ingestion (suspected drugs) in dogs who have walked in St James Park yesterday; they have presented as wobbly, lethargic, twitchy and unable to hold their bowels. 🤒🐶

The park are aware but please be extra careful with off lead dogs- especially if they're scavengers! Accidental ingestion of toxins can happen anywhere and it can be as little as a cigarette butt with something in to cause them to be poorly! 🚬💊🍪

With parks being some of the most common places animals seem to pick up things they shouldn't please always be aware of your pet and what they pick up when walking. It is also not always just dogs- cats have been known to eat silly things and end up in hospital too! 🐱🚑

We have had a stray kitten 🐈‍⬛ handed into us this morning.

It is a female, approximately 4-5 months old, found by Hollybrook Cemetery, which is opposite the General Hospital. 🏥

'Woody has been a blood donor for Pet Blood Bank UK for just over a year and has now given 8 donations, saving up to 32 other dogs' lives!
He enjoys attending the sessions and getting all the fuss and treats. It's such a positive experience; there is never any pressure on Woody, and he's even fallen asleep during the donation.
The whole visit takes about an hour, but the donation itself lasts around 5 minutes.'

Sadly, we have had a black female cat handed into us yesterday unfortunately deceased 💔🐈‍⬛ She had no microchip so unfortunately we are unable to locate her owners 📍😓 she also didn’t look too old. 🥺

She was found after being run over in Beavois Valley 😢
