It’s a circle of life…
Grief comes without asking.
Just when you think it’s getting easier, it stops you in your tracks.

It takes your breath away, and for a moment there’s nothing you can do but let it wash over you.

You hope that one day this crushing pain will soften into a warm feeling in my heart.
That memories of him will bring a smile instead of tears.
That I’ll be able to say his name and feel gratitude instead of the ache.

I will welcome that day.

But today is not that day.
