Kennel Cough:
If your dog contracts kennel cough prior to arrival, then it will not be admitted into the kennels. Any dog that has had it must have received treatment by a vet and clear of any coughing for 14 consecutive days. Whilst we cannot police this we rely on your honesty and trust that you would not put any of our other guest’s welfare at risk. The kennel cough vaccine whilst effective does not guarantee your dog will not contract the virus, it does however lessen the severity. Cat Boxes and leads:
Cat boxes – Must be adequately sized, secure and clean. If we need to move your cat in an emergency, will your cat box keep your cat safe and secure? Leads/harnesses – all leads and harnesses must be in good useable condition and correctly fitted. Damaged or poor-quality leads and harnesses can put your dog’s safety at risk and will prevent us from walking your dog. We do not allow any form of prong collars. Treats and Toys:

Just popping by to let you all know that we have a few dates left available in August, there’s not many but if your looking for a last minute get away give us a shout first as we can’t guarantee a spot, and don’t forget to make sure your pet is fully up to date with their vacs ( including kennel cough, which if it’s the live vac up their nose need to have been given it AT LEAST 14 days before coming in, if it’s the injection version then you don’t need the 14 days ) 😊😊

🚗 PET CARRIERS NEEDED! 🚗

With so many birds currently in our care, we are running low on pet carriers. We welcome any size, but they must be fully functional with working doors so our patients stay safe and secure during transport and housing! 📦🚪

Don't have a spare carrier to donate? No worries at all! You can still help us keep the rescue running by making a small donation towards our daily running and vet costs. Or gifting an item directly from our wishlist instead.

Thank you so much for your amazing support! 🙏💛

If all our lovely customers could like and share, they do such good work 😍

I don’t often talk about the reality behind running the charity but I think it’s important people understand where we are right now.

Like many small charities, we’re feeling the pressure. Donations have dropped, costs have increased and at the moment we are spending more than we’re bringing in. Every penny is carefully considered and we work hard to make sure funds go where they are needed most.

What many people don’t see is that the charity is not just the hands-on animal care (although that alone is a huge commitment). Behind the scenes there is a mountain of work that has to happen every single day.

Last year I made the incredibly terrifying decision to leave my job because we reached a point where the charity needed someone fully focused on moving it forward and keeping everything running.

That means everything from IT, social media, HR, rotas, policies, training, protocols, bookkeeping, purchasing and responding to messages, alongside the endless calls and enquiries we receive. Some days we can have upwards of 50 calls, and as one person it simply isn’t possible to answer every single one. There’s no time to be sick or tired or ill.

Our volunteers are amazing. We are fortunate that we don’t struggle to find people willing to help with the animals because that is the rewarding part people naturally want to be involved with. But the less visible work, the paperwork, planning and running of the organisation, still has to be done.

Our shop continues to help support us but it is not currently covering the costs of running the whole charity. It’s helping more than it’s hindering so that’s something. We’ve also had to make the difficult decision to cancel our country fairs this year. They were only a small part of our income, but the amount of time needed to organise myself and them just isn’t possible alongside everything else at the moment.

The difficult truth is that without more support, we have to consider what the future looks like. The thought of not being here to help the animals that need us is something we don’t even want to imagine. We want to move forward. We want to grow. We want to keep up with the demand being placed on us every single day.

We don’t have the resources of the large national organisations. We are a small team doing everything we can but we need our community behind us. I’ve met some of the most amazing, inspiring people I have ever met in my life, right here in Scunthorpe.

If you’ve ever supported us, donated, volunteered, shared our posts, visited our shop or simply cheered us on, please know that it has made a difference.

We are not ready to give up, but we do need people to understand that small charities cannot survive on passion alone. They need practical support too.

Right now, every donation, every share and every bit of support really does matter. Please get behind your local wildlife rescue. I’m begging.

Thank you for reading, for caring and for standing alongside us.

Tara ❤️

If you have decided to literally fly by the seat of your pants this year by booking last minute please do give us a shout and we will do our best to help.
Can we just remind people though if they are planning to do this then please ensure your pets vaccinations are fully upto date this includes the kennel cough vaccination, some vets are now offering the kennel cough via injection which does mean we can take them straight away, however if your vet is still giving the kennel cough vaccination up the nose then it will have to have been given AT LEAST 14 days before coming in.
Please do check all this before booking as it saves everybody time and effort.
July and August are already very busy so if you need to get booked, give us a shout ASAP

In light of the current volatility with the middle east and the possible risk of flight changes etc, We would like to advise all our customers with current bookings or anyone thinking of making a booking that we will, as always endeavour to accommodate any changes to your bookings made with us. However if your flight is delayed and we cannot accommodate your pet(s) longer due to our commitment to other guests bookings, then it is your responsibility to make sure that there is a secondary contact available who can collect your pet(s) for you at the end of the stay as per the dates you have booked. We would also request that everyone reacquaints themselves with our terms and conditions with regards to our amendments and cancellation policy. Thank you 😊😊😊
