Another Locarno 62 baby!! I loves these guys!

This is Harry. A 5 year old gelding who I met today for the first time today. What a gentleman he is! His owners are very lucky.
Although he’s bred to Show jump, with his Sire competing at 1.60, Harry is predominantly working on Dressage and his owner wanted to make sure his Sheath and overall heath in that area was as it should be.

He was found to be very very healthy, with his Sheath in great condition as he produces healthy Sm**ma of the right consistency.

That’s another box ticked off the list ✅

Now that’s a big bean 🫘 for this handsome man! Isn’t he cute 😊

Tucked away where no one could see, this bean was irritating and hurt me when I wee!

Nick came along, she fed me a mint, then what did she do? I’ll give you a hint. she lubed herself up, then in went her hand, and out came a bean.

I’m much more comfortable now, I can p*e without pain, I liked seeing Nik and I can’t wait to see her again 🫧🧼🫘

Benny here looking nervous after I told him he had straw stuck in his Sheath which meant he needed a W***y Wash 🧼 🤦‍♀️😆🫘
He was rather dirty, and had ALOT of smelly, greasy, waxy Sm**ma which was making him uncomfortable.
Lean clean and he was good to go. 🧼🫧

Who remembers 26 year old Jack from last year? He suffers from fly strike 🪰🐛 each year.
A few days ago Jacks owner found his galloping around, bucking and acting absolutely insane! Totally out of character for the old chap at 27! He soon began presenting colic symptoms and their vet was called. He was tubed twice and bloods were taken. His white blood cells were very high, so he was given antibiotics to help him calm but no real reason was found behind the cause of the infection.

Jacks owner called me and I rushed out as an emergency and found a huge amount of Maggots, and a mess where they had started to eat away at his flesh. I’m certain that was the cause of infection and the antibiotics will continue from the vet.

Horses can and will display signs of Colic in extreme cases like Jack.

Have you had your horse/pony’s Sheath cleaned recently? 🧼🫧🫘

The flys are out l, it’s getting warmer, and a dirty Sheath is only asking for trouble 🪰🐛

Well it’s ‘bean’ a fantastic week but I’m well and truly ready to see the back of it.

42 horses seen 🐴 around 30 beans removed 🫘, 3 cases of fly strike🪰
, 2 emergency vet visits for Bolt 🏥, and a broken down car resulting in having to buy a van. 🚐

Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 for 2 days from tomorrow and me and Bolt.

What a day!! Broke down on the M62.. again.. never buy a Quashqai!! £1000 spent on it in the past 6 weeks for it to break down yet again! police came and took me to the next junction. My phone died.. and had no way of contacting anyone. Only way to charge my phone was in a car that no longer worked!
On the upside, I have another little van, and I’m back on the road!

Thank you to some very good friends for driving such a long way from home to come and rescue me!

Harrogate and then up to Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 tomorrow…

Busy afternoon in County Durham.. these fabulous boys had their Sheaths cleaned. 2 years being the youngest, and 24 being the oldest of today’s gentleman!!
All boys were well behaved, just a few who were a little warey of the whole process but quickly settled and began to relax. ☺️

Albert had his second visit with myself today 🐴🧼🫘

At our first visit, Albert was very defensive, and kicked a lot to show his discomfort. As soon as I removed his large bean 🫘 he settled and began to enjoy the process….

Today, Albert thoroughly enjoyed his clean from start to finish with no bean present at all.

This is why regular Sheath Cleaning is so important and will benefit your horse/pony.
