The days are long and often involve many miles of walking. More often than not, I end up covered in mud, grabbing quick snacks in the car between sessions.

Despite this, I continue to take great pride in my work.

It is incredibly rewarding to support so many people and their dogs, helping them build stronger, more positive relationships. ❤️🙂👍

Something I’ll never get tired of as a dog behaviourist is the moments that my clients get life changing results.

Joy contacted us a she was in a desperate situation with her German Shepherd cross Misty. For client confidentiality purposes I can’t get into the full story, let’s just say that Joy inherited Misty only a few weeks ago.

Walking her was just to much, due to her strong reaction to other dogs. Being a small lady with a powerful dog and because of that not being able to walk her at normal times, so she can avoid interacting with others.

There is lots more work to do but after her first session and being reported still by joy a noticeable transformation is taking place.

Here is a small selection of former clients that are now part of my helpers group. I have more than 20 of these amazing people and dogs to call on. They have all completed training with me, some recently and others from years ago.

This is a resource that every dog trainer should be able to build on as it means we haven’t got to use strangers dogs as stooges for training.

I’m so honoured to have such a wonderful selection to help me out and it means so much to me that they all help out as and when is needed.

With the new law coming in to play from Wednesday 18th March it underlines the importance of responsible dog ownership.

Recall training for off lead dogs is something we should all teach our dogs and this is best started when they are puppies. Starting in your home and garden and building up to outdoor locations and to include distractions.

Some will say that you need an ecollar to truly teach bullet proof recall, we say that isn”t necessary if you start when they are young. Ok some breeds are just genetically in favour of the chase. But they can also have fantastic recall if you get the ingredients correct from the start. A combination of good rewards based. training coupled with giving them outlets to do what they were bred to do and pretty much any dog will learn to come back when called or whistled.

If you have missed out on training whilst they are very young, well the end goal might take a little longer but with the right training with someone experienced enough in the field can help you become that responsible owner who’s dogs doesn’t run off to chase livestock

The Dogs (Protection of Livestock) (Amendment) Act 2025 received Royal Assent today, strengthening legal protections for farmers against livestock worrying.
