“Dear Vonkebles, we hope you’re all well. Please can you help? We have a very Autistic child with daily challenging behaviour. We are looking for an assistance dog, however, can you provide a dog and training to go to the environments our boy loves, which is mainly trains and planes. Also, will the dog be okay in busy crowded places and help provide a safe space in times of challenging behaviours?”

We are working with a few Autistic/ADHD families now and have provided dogs and training in order to meet the child and families needs. Here’s a few examples of what we’ve trained our assistance dogs to do and the environments we’ve trained them to be calm, relaxed and happy in…….

Meet Oscar the boxer dog. Oscar came to us for residential training four weeks ago. Oscar was extremely nervous in crowded places, around traffic and people. Oscar was also reactive towards people, traffic and dogs. During the last month we’ve installed a Vonkebles update for Oscar, we’ve worked with him everyday giving him good quality training and exposure to the point Oscar is now much calmer and relaxed walking through a busy town with crowds of people, dogs and traffic. We’ve also installed ‘the good behaviour’ update for Oscar so that he is now walking on a loose lead, sitting and laying down on command.

This morning, before it became too hot, we met Oscar’s hooman parents and Oscar showed them his new skills and confidence walking around the park and town with lots of people, crowds and dogs. We wish you all the best Oscar!! ❤️❤️❤️🐾🐾🐾
