💉 Are Your Pet's Vaccinations Up to Date? 🐾

Vaccinations are one of the simplest and most effective ways to protect your pet from serious, and in some cases life-threatening, diseases.

🐶 Dogs – Vaccinations help protect against diseases such as parvovirus, distemper, infectious hepatitis and leptospirosis.

🐱 Cats – Keeping vaccinations up to date helps protect against illnesses including cat flu and feline panleukopenia, whether they're indoor or outdoor cats.

🐰 Rabbits – Rabbits need regular vaccinations too! They should be protected against Myxomatosis and Rabbit Viral Haemorrhagic Disease (RVHD 1 & 2), both of which can be fatal.

Even if your pet doesn't mix with many other animals, they can still be exposed to infectious diseases through the environment, wildlife, or even on our shoes and clothing.

🦷🐱MEET ENZO – OUR BRAVE DENTAL PATIENT🐱🦷

Our lovely nurse Chelsea’s cat, Enzo, recently came in for a dental procedure after dental X-rays revealed several teeth that needed attention.

Before his anaesthetic, Enzo had pre-anaesthetic blood tests to make sure he was fit and well for his procedure💉🩸
He was then carefully monitored throughout his anaesthetic and maintained on intravenous fluid therapy (IVFT) to support his circulation and hydration, helping to keep him stable under anaesthesia and aid a smooth recovery. 💧❤️

Enzo needed a total of 11 teeth extracted, but our team made sure he was kept comfortable, warm and pain-free throughout his stay. 🥰🐾

And Enzo certainly didn’t let his dental procedure slow him down! 😻 Just 10 minutes after his procedure, he was already tucking into some food! 🍽️🐱

He recovered brilliantly and was soon ready to head home with Chelsea for some well-deserved TLC. 🏡💕

Dental disease can be painful for our pets and is often difficult to spot until it becomes more advanced. Regular dental checks can help us identify problems early and keep those precious smiles healthy! 🪥✨

🌸🐝 WELCOME POLLINATORS INTO YOUR GARDEN! 🦋🐞

Our gardens can provide vital food and shelter for pollinators, helping support wildlife and biodiversity. 🌿💚

🐝 Encourage: Bees, butterflies, moths, hoverflies and other beneficial insects.

🌼 Pollinator-friendly plants: Lavender, alliums, thyme, marjoram, honeysuckle, sunflowers and cosmos. Even dandelions provide an important early food source!

🌱 Simple ways to help:
✨ Choose single-flowered plants
🌿 Grow flowers throughout the year
🚫 Avoid pesticides where possible
🍃 Leave a wild area for shelter
💧 Provide shallow water with stones for insects

🐾 PET SAFETY FIRST! ⚠️
Some pollinator-friendly plants can be toxic to pets. Foxgloves, lilies, autumn crocus and oleander can cause serious poisoning, while lilies are especially dangerous to cats.

👉 Always check plants are pet-safe before planting and keep toxic plants away from curious pets. If your pet eats a potentially poisonous plant, contact your vet immediately — don't wait for symptoms.

🌍💚 A pet-friendly garden can be wildlife-friendly too! Even the smallest garden or balcony can make a difference.

🪲🐛🕷️ LOVE THE UNLOVED – BUG PETS! 🕷️🐛🪲

When we think of pets, we often picture dogs, cats and rabbits… but some of the most fascinating pets have six, eight or even hundreds of legs! 😍

🦗 Praying mantises – masters of camouflage with incredible hunting skills!
🕷️ Jumping spiders – tiny, intelligent and full of personality. 👀
🐛 Stick insects – fascinating masters of disguise. 🌿
🪱 Millipedes – gentle recyclers with hundreds of tiny legs!
🦂 Scorpions – amazing creatures that require specialist care and respect.
🕸️ Tarantulas – fascinating and often misunderstood members of the spider family.

These incredible animals may be small, but they have big personalities and very specific needs. 🥰

Just like our furry and feathered friends, exotic invertebrates need the right environment, temperature, humidity, nutrition and enrichment to thrive. 🌡️💧🌿

🐱💙 Enzo visited us for his second vaccination! 💙🐱

Handsome little Enzo came in to see Nurse Chelsea for his second vaccination today and was an absolute superstar! ⭐

💉Completing their kitten vaccinations is an important step in helping protect your new feline friend against serious infectious diseases and getting them ready to safely explore the world.

Well done, Enzo – you were so brave! 🥰 We can't wait to watch you grow.

🐾 Ralph popped in today for his weigh-in! ⚖️💙

Ralph came to see us today for a quick weight check before collecting his flea and worm treatment.

Did you know that parasite treatments need to be prescribed according to your pet's current weight? Keeping your pet up to date with regular weigh-ins helps us make sure they're receiving the correct dose to keep them protected.
