πŸš—β˜€οΈβ›”οΈβš οΈ DOGS DIE IN HOT CARS – EVEN ON MILD DAYSβš οΈβ›”οΈ β˜€οΈπŸš—

Please, never leave your dog in a parked car. Not even for "just 5 minutes."

A car can become dangerously hot incredibly quickly:
🌑️ 22°C outside = over 47°C inside a car within an hour
🌑️ On warmer days, temperatures can soar above 50°C in minutes

This can lead to:
πŸ”₯ Heatstroke
πŸ’” Organ failure
🧠 Brain damage
⚠️ Collapse
☠️ Death

Cracking a window open or parking in the shade is NOT enough to keep your pet safe.

Signs of heatstroke include:
🐾 Excessive panting
🐾 Drooling
🐾 Bright red gums
🐾 Weakness or collapse
🐾 Vomiting
🐾 Confusion or seizures

If your dog doesn't need to come with you, the safest place for them is at home, where they can stay cool and comfortable.

No shopping trip, errand, or quick stop is worth risking your pet's life.

🐢 If you see a dog in distress in a hot car, act quickly and seek assistance immediately.

Please share this post to help spread awareness and keep our furry friends safe this summer. ❀️

🐰πŸ₯• Rabbit Awareness Week – Healthy Feeding Tips! πŸŒΏπŸ’š

Did you know that a healthy diet is one of the most important ways to keep your rabbit happy and thriving? πŸ‡βœ¨

🌾 Hay should make up around 85–90% of your rabbit's diet, helping to keep their teeth worn down and their digestive system healthy. Alongside this, offer a measured amount of good-quality pellets and a variety of rabbit-safe leafy greens each day. πŸ₯¬πŸ₯•

🍎 Treats should be given sparingly, and it's just as important to know which plants and foods are toxic and should always be avoided. 🚫🌷

πŸ‘‡ See the poster below for a handy guide to daily foods, occasional treats, and common toxic plants to keep away from your bunnies.

A balanced diet is the key to healthy teeth, healthy tummies and happy hops! πŸ°πŸ’š

It’s Day 4 of Rabbit Awareness Week: Feeding Bunnies Better! πŸ₯¬πŸ°

Rabbits love to forage, dig, chew and explore, and food can be a great way to encourage these natural behaviours. Try scattering nuggets through hay, hiding treats in enrichment toys or offering safe forage to keep mealtimes fun and stimulating.

Feeding shouldn’t just fill tummies, it should keep rabbits mentally and physically active too.

πŸ’§πŸΎ Why We Love Water Fountains for Cats & Dogs πŸΎπŸ’§

Did you know that many pets drink more water when it's flowing rather than sitting still in a bowl?

Water fountains can be a fantastic way to encourage hydration, especially in cats! 🐱

πŸ’™ Why is drinking so important for cats?

Cats naturally have a low thirst drive because their wild ancestors got most of their water from their prey. This means many cats don't drink enough, which can increase their risk of:

⚠️ Urinary problems
⚠️ Bladder stones
⚠️ Cystitis (bladder inflammation)
⚠️ Kidney disease

Good hydration helps support healthy kidneys and urinary tract function throughout your cat's life.

🐾 Fun fact: Many cats don't like their water bowl being next to their food! In the wild, water sources near food could become contaminated, so many cats instinctively prefer their water to be in a separate location.

✨ Benefits of pet water fountains:
πŸ’§ Encourages pets to drink more
πŸ’§ Constantly circulating water stays fresher
πŸ’§ Filtered water can remove debris and odours
πŸ’§ Helps support kidney and urinary health
πŸ’§ Great for multi-pet households
πŸ’§ Many pets simply prefer running water!

🐢 Dogs can benefit too! Staying well hydrated helps support healthy kidneys, digestion, temperature regulation, and overall wellbeing.

If your pet isn't a big drinker, a water fountain could be a simple change that makes a big difference to their health.

β˜€οΈπŸΎ Is Your Astroturf Too Hot for Your Pet? πŸΎβ˜€οΈ

Artificial grass can become much hotter than the air temperature, reaching 50–70Β°C+ in direct sunlight. At these temperatures, your pet's paw pads can burn in seconds.

πŸ”₯ Watch out for:
β€’ Limping
β€’ Licking at paws
β€’ Red, swollen or blistered pads
β€’ Reluctance to walk

βœ… Keep paws safe:
β€’ Use the 5-second test – if it's too hot for the back of your hand, it's too hot for paws.
β€’ Provide shade and fresh water.
β€’ Hose down astroturf before use.
β€’ Avoid outdoor play during the hottest part of the day. β€’ Choose cooler surfaces where possible.

🚨 If you think your pet has burned their paws, cool the area with cool water and contact your vet for advice.

A sunny garden can quickly become a hazardβ€”always check the ground before letting your pets out to play! β˜€οΈπŸΆπŸ±

It’s Day 3 of Rabbit Awareness Week: Feeding Bunnies Better! πŸ₯¬πŸ°

Did you know hay should make up 85–90% of your rabbit’s diet? The rest should include a small portion of high-fibre nuggets, rabbit-safe greens and fresh water daily.

Too many treats or muesli-style foods can lead to selective feeding and serious health issues, so getting the balance right matters. This year, we’re helping owners feed their bunnies better one bite at a time.
