🌡️ Heatwave incoming — and if you’re feeling it, your dog definitely is too 🐶☀️
Hot weather can become dangerous for dogs very quickly, especially for puppies, older dogs, flat-faced breeds, and pets with underlying health conditions.
As temperatures rise, remember:
💧 Keep fresh water available at all times
🌳 Walk early morning or later evening when it’s cooler
🔥 Avoid hot pavements — if it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for paws
🏠 Keep pets cool indoors and out of direct heat
🚨 Watch for signs of heatstroke: excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, vomiting, or collapse.
If you have any concerns your pet might be suffering from heatstroke, bring them into the surgery without delay: https://www.thepetvet.co.uk/contact/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=heatwave
