Happy International Dog Day from all of us at Forest Veterinary Clinic!🐶💚

Today we’re celebrating everything canine related including all the dogs belonging to our wonderful team! From spaniels and collies to dachshunds and terriers and everything in between, we love them all! They are the four legged family members waiting for us when we get home after a busy day of looking after yours🥰

They make us laugh, keep us on our toes, cover absolutely everything in dog hair and most importantly, make our lives much brighter❤️

We’d love to see the dogs that make up your family too! Share a photo of them in the comments below so we can celebrate International Dog Day together🐶

We have been made aware that Years have issued a recall of their fresh meals following reports of potential adverse reactions.

A number of reports have been made of dogs developing dry eye with symptoms including: excessive blinking or squinting, pawing at their eyes, discharge and general discomfort around the eyes.

If you are concerned please contact us on 01425 652221 (Fordingbridge) or 01425 461462 (Ringwood) for an appointment🐾

Following the voluntary recall of all Years Fresh Meals, we know your first thought will be for your dog, whether they’re safe, what you should feed them and how you can continue caring for them.

To be clear, this recall is a precaution. Our investigation has identified a potential link between buckwheat, an ingredient used in many dog foods, and reported cases of dry eye. Lab testing will confirm this, but we've taken the decision not to wait.

Dogs' health & wellbeing have always driven us, and that means acting now rather than waiting for absolute certainty.

Please stop feeding any Years Signature Meals immediately, even if your dog seems well. When choosing an alternative, we recommend continuing with complete & balanced fresh food with wholefood ingredients.

We’ve paused all Years subscriptions. Upcoming orders will be cancelled and refunded automatically to your original payment method. If an order is in transit, please refuse this and contact Customer Care to receive your account credit.

Alongside our ongoing investigation, we’re reformulating our meals without buckwheat, with your dog's wellbeing at the heart of every decision, so, when Years returns, you can feel fully confident filling their bowl again.

We're thinking of every dog who’s been affected and every family caring for them through such a worrying and difficult time.

We’re deeply sorry for the worry this has caused. We know how much your dog means to you, and we want to ensure you’ve clear information, guidance and help throughout.

If your dog has experienced dry eye (KCS) while feeding Years, please let us know, even if you've told us before. The more detail you can share, including your dog's symptoms and any veterinary notes or costs, the better our team can understand what happened and respond personally. https://moreyears.typeform.com/to/bC8fm7AC

We're experiencing a high volume of emails and messages and are working our way through them as quickly as we can. Thank you for your patience while we do.

For full details on this recall, including symptoms to watch for, what to do with Years meals, and how to reach our Customer Care team, please visit years.com/pages/care.

Please be aware that our Fordingbridge practice will be having a planned power outage on Monday 17th August for the majority of the day.

During this time, the phones will be diverted to our Ringwood practice, so you will still be able to contact us if needed.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience and understanding🐾

T E D D Y 🤎🤍🤎

Time flies when you’re growing into those ginormous paws! 🐾

Swipe to see Teddy’s very first visit compared to his most recent one… we can’t believe how much he’s grown already!

He’s still the same happy, handsome boy, just a little bit bigger each time we see him. We always love welcoming Teddy back to the clinic and can’t wait to watch him continue to grow🥰

Good luck Elisa, who’s spending her day off doing what most people would call completely bonkers… walking ridiculous distances for fun!

Today she’s taking on her 7th Ultra Challenge (yes… seventh!), raising money for Dogs for Autism, and we couldn’t be prouder of her.

Wishing you the very best of luck, Elisa! We hope your feet behave, the weather stays kind, and you remember that sitting on the sofa is also a perfectly acceptable hobby . . . even if it doesn’t seem to be your thing!

Good luck from everyone at Forest Veterinary Clinic – we’re all cheering you on!
