I write this post with a heavy heart, 💔
We've had the heartbreaking decision to have Stan put to sleep,
He was a well travelled dog and joined us on many trips and festivals,
He allowed us to share his crazy chaotic life, and with that he was my greatest teacher in the dog world, we are totally devastated...sleep tight big lad..❣️

Fred wore his big boy pants last weekend and had two days in Kennels with Stan...he survived!, I forget how young he is ...

Fred wore his big boy pants last weekend and had two days in Kennels with Stan...he survived!,
I forget how young he is and still has those puppy traits, if nipping out for an hour or so I leave them home together, 🐶🐶
I came home to confetti inside the door, Stan never touches the mail but, Fred...well the evidence says it all, we've been waiting for a parcel for nearly two weeks,
it's arrived, I'm out, Fed chewed the card!!,
Here I am patching the pieces figuring out where its gone. I cried with laughter at the situation!! The parcel we now have,
A decoration was knocked off the stairs during one of their zoomie sessions,
I mentally noted to pick it up,
I didn't, Fred found it, thought it was a chew toy...
I now await festive sparkly poo.💩💩
Oh Fred, you do make me laugh..🤣🤣

Just look at that face!!,
After some time of unpicking what's going on,
here is was I have observed, tackling these issues are another thing,
The traffic, doesn't lunge, is worried by some noises.

The field, brings fear he physically shakes and constantly on the lookout for dogs..

Dogs behind us or across the road worry him, he hits the floor.

People, again he's worried and goes into appeasement mode.

His original harness worried him, its in the bin.
Lound noises in the house puts him in appeasement mode,

Lound voices again put him into appeasement mode.
The TV...well this is a biggies he's terrified of it, constantly watching it, he struggles to turn away from it and he has drool running from his mouth,

The Car...he's terrified, he physically shakes really pants and drools everywhere..

So I took one thing at a time and started to break each one down to it's nuts and bolts and build it back up, some pieces fit, some don't..
This is the difference between a behaviourist and a trainer, a trainer should help you to gain control and confidence alongside trust of owner and dog
A behaviourist, we deal with non speaking clients that need help...there is no quick fix, if any at all...stay on this journey and see what happens...

Fred left with one remit.....whatever happens, if there's a time that things don't workout, he comes back to me....so I will fast track the next 8 months...
He left for his new home, he settled in and had a new play mate.
2 months later...he's put on weight and had a full vet health check.
I then recieved a message to say he's attacking the TV, the owner said 'he will grow out of it' I expressed my concern that he wouldn't and needed training, the owner didn't express any interest.
A few more months later, I had another update with the picture of him looking out of the window, this worried me, did he have enough stimulation??
THEN..
A month later, I had a message....the owner had to let him go, I called and found he's dug two trees up and has has 3 TVs off the wall..1 hour later he's back home with us...
Time to get to know him again....stayed posted, I will give you my findings abd break them down piece by piece, I hope this helps other owners that are struggling or prevent owners getting into this situation..

So on we go....we consider the extra costs that come with owning a pet, vet costs, food, boarding when away, as we all know prices have risen, we were still in a dilemma, when a friend of mine was telling her hairdresser the tale of Fred, a lady overheard and asked for more information, she contacted me, she had been looking fir a Collie pup and had registered with Maxies, could she come and see him, a date was arranged, I asked had she had experience of Collies, shes assured me she had, sad to see but Fred left us, I have very mixed emotions 😢

Time for sleep 💤💤💤 after all that play!!, There's that dilemma, do we keep him or rehome? Emotionally I'm still dealing ...

There's that dilemma, do we keep him or rehome? Emotionally I'm still dealing with mums passing, it's a tough one...so while he's here we will start on his training,
Toilet training was nailed in two days, and walking well on the lead, 🐾🐾🐾
he's getting used to the outside world of noise and sniffs 🐕🐕

what were we to do? I was still coming to terms with muns passing and had all the legal stuff to deal with, but this little fella was having a pretty rough time too...only 6 months old ....difficult abd emotional times 😢

We got an update, he had settled, was not destructive and responding to training..we were delighted, 😁
Untill one week later, the pack dynamics in the other house changed and he was challenging the males,
Yes at such a young age....
Fred came back to us a week later 😪😪
