🙈N Y L A🙈

Nyla is a beautiful Cockapoo who loves cuddling and lots of tickles🐒

She needs very regular grooming as her natural coat is very curly and is prone to knots. She is mostly knot free when she comes to me, due to great maintenance from the owner and her frequent visits to Sandy Paws😇

The one area knots occur regularly is inbetween her paws/ (toes). These can be EXTREMELY painful to remove, so I do so when the coat is full of conditioner, making the knots easier to separate👍🏼

These knots are VERY, VERY common and can cause problems when left. If you ever notice your dog having them, message me and we can sort a drop in appointment for me to comb them out😊

🐚N O V A🐚

This is Nova, the Cockapoo🥰

She comes to me regularly for her grooms which helps to keep her knot free and looking super cute💝

Nova always gives me her hand when she wants me to stop what I am doing to give her a fuss. So her grooms take a lot longer than most😆

🩷HERE COME THE GIRLS🩷

This is Daphne and Betsy😇

Here is a video of them strutting their stuff after their groom🤣

They are both such angels in the salon and they always have a waggly tail - before, during, and after their groom!

🐥L O L A🐥

Lola is a Dogue de Bordeaux, which is a very old breed, that was originally for working! They pulled carts, guarded farms/ livestock and even hunted large game🦍

Lola is a gentle giant who probably wouldn’t be the natural worker like her ancestors😎

For her groom, she had a double wash and dry and a de-shed. For this, I use a rubber brush to drag all of the loose hair away. The amount of hair she lost would be similar to that of a cockapoo groom!! This is why it is so important to have your short-haired dogs groomed, too😇

I loved having Lola in the salon and look forward to seeing her again💕

🧡AUTUMN🧡

Little Autumn has been coming to me since she was a puppy. She is an angel during her groom, and has no fear with any aspect, which is amazing😘

I take her body short and leave her legs chunky, giving her a ‘teddy bear’ look. I also make sure the areas that are prone to matting, like her armpits, are clipped out to reduce that risk😇

I love seeing Autumn, and I am already excited for her next visit🐶

🍷M E R L O T🍷

Merlot is a Cavapoo with a really soft coat🥰

I see him regularly to keep his coat healthy and knot free🥹

I have to keep his whiskers long on his face as Merlot uses them, like most dogs, to help with spacial awareness. Without them his owners have said he bumps into things, so I like to keep them nice and long to help him with his surroundings😘

After his grooms Merlot enjoys lots of attention, so all tidying comes to a standstill for me until he is gone🙊

🍂G U S A N D B E L L A🍂

These 2 little besties are Gus (cockapoo) and Bella (westie)🥰

They both have different needs while in the salon. Gus has EXTREMELY sensitive skin, so he is washed with gentle shampoo and rinsed off very thoroughly.
Bella is an older girl and can’t lift her legs up like she used to, so when getting her unders I hold her in my arms and keep her upright to stop the strain on her back✌️

Both dogs love to see the other get groomed, so I let them watch each other (anything for an easy life)🤣

It is always fun when these 2 are in the salon, see you next time doggies🩷

💛D A P H N E A N D B E T S Y💛

These 2 sisters came to me this week for their regular grooms😇

Daphne is a cavapoo puppy and Betsy is a Cavalier. They are both very loving and always make sure to give kisses and hugs before, during and after their grooms!

🐶COAT CARE🐶

Matting is unfortunately very common. They occur due to knots not being untangled and left to grow until they fuse to the skin😓

Removal with brushes / combs is VERY painful so I opt against it. If I have a dog in the salon with any matting, it is SHAVED off. This is safer and better for the dog’s welfare🥰

Please don’t feel guilty about your dog getting them as they occur with and without grooming due to our dogs being so adventurous and wild!! The best thing to do is let your groomer remove it because home removal can often go wrong😬

I am more than happy to remove any matting that forms in between appointments, as well as a brushing out session. This will help keep your dogs coat AND skin healthy. Please message me for more information on that🧡

💚C O B Y💚

This is Coby the Cavapoo🥰

He comes to me for his groom every 8 weeks and has a very good cut! His owners like him to have a short chest as they know how mucky it can get with all the lovely walks he goes on😇

Coby actually has a part time job in his owners shop, he has great customer service skills I am told and loves to oversee the delivery being tidied away😝
