We've all waited on these warmer temperatures for so long and of course I'd be having a moan that it's too hot in the salon but the dogs and I will be kept comfortable despite the dryers on with the full Air Conditioning System ❄️❄️ which will keep the salon at a comfortable temperature so no need to worry about your dog over heating while being groomed or me being hot and flustered 🥵🤣 ☀️

Poppy & Orla are older puppies who are getting used to everything in the salon but both doing really well ❤️

End of another week at K9 Creative Cuts Dog Grooming in Portrush and can you believe its mid May.....though we've been talking about Christmas in the salon already 😮

Some of the gorgeous regulars and one wee face you might not remember as its been quite a few years since I've seen him.....handsome boy Murphy 🥰

As usual salon reopens on Tuesday, have a good Sunday 👍

First visit to a professional grooming salon for 4 year old Dexter for a de-shed and he smashed it......his loose hair was clogging up the dryer so we had to sweep up as we went along ❤️

‼️First of all I want to start by saying the first photo is NOT the dog in the video‼️

First photo is of a dog I used to groom but who is sadly no longer with us.

Teeth cleaning is discussed a lot in the salon with owners saying my dog won't let me brush his/her teeth.

While grooming, dogs will let us know if their mouth is sore by pulling away or growling/snapping while I'm handling them so keeping on top of teeth cleaning one way or another is important

Charm in the video is like a lot of other dogs and isn't keen on brushing but his mum perseveres at home and also brings his toothpaste/brush and I do them as well when he's in with me regularly.

If you want any tips on getting your dog used to teeth brushing or want them done in the salon while being groomed just let us know and we'll allow a little more time for your slot 👍

🐾 LETS TALK ABOUT FOOT CARE 🐾

Foot care is just as important for dogs as it is for humans.

Dogs can suffer blisters, cut pads, injured toes or matted hair between toes and pads.

Any of these will make walking painful or cause skin issues if your dog licks or chews their feet and will leave them very sensitive to having their feet touched/handled especially in the salon.

🐾 KEEPING PAW PADS TRIMMED & MATT FREE 🐾

When dogs are groomed the hair between the pads/toes is trimmed which helps to keep their feet healthy and easier for owners to see if there are any problems.

Please check paw pads regularly and spread toes/pads apart to look for any injuries, matted hair or foreign objects as excessive nibbling/licking might indicate sore feet.

Also if you dog struggles to keep their balance on slippy tiles or wooden floors it will help to keep hair on feet trimmed.

It's lovely to see the local area so busy and buzzing with people BUT it is lovely to have a quiet walk and enjoy our scenery in peace....Shelby loves to just sit and look around (inbetween searching for small creatures) 🤣 For any Portballintrae folk, what was the stone walled area for? Anyone know? ❤️
