💡These Double Coat breeds have 2 layers of fur that require regular grooming to remove loose undercoat and reduce shedding ✅️

🪮 Regular brushing at home as well as 6-8 weekly trips to your groomer will help keep these coats in tip top shape 👌

👀 MATTED DOGS 🐩

➡️ If your pet arrives matted (not one or two tats but absolutely pelted) then please dont be shocked, surprised or upset when we explain they need a FULL SHAVE OFF‼️

🪄 It simply isnt realistic for a groomer to brush out weeks (or months) of matting during 1 grooming appointment 😬

Dematting is a painful process & we wont inflict prolonged, unnecessary suffering 😟

What we can do ✔️

✂️ Carefully remove isolated tats / mats if most of the remaining coat is in good condition.

🏡 Help owners understand how to maintain coats between appointments & what tools are best to use 🪮

ℹ️ Work with you to choose a length that is practical for your dogs lifestyle & manageable for you 🐕

A shaved dog is a fresh start and often the kindest option. Your pet’s comfort will always come first. 🐾💕

✂️ Lola got her first haircut today & to say she was so well behaved would be an understatement ✨️🏆

⛱️ Lola enjoys lots of beach & forest walks so her mummy requested a short cut which is more manageable at home ✔️🌳

A customer asked me the other day 'Do you have covid'? Thankfully not 😅 but it was a fair question 🤔

😷 Wearing a face mask protects groomers from breathing in hair, dander & sprays that can irritate the lungs & lead to a condition called 'groomers lung' 🫁 and nobody wants that!

🎧 The ear defenders are to protect our ears from all the loud noises...from dryers and alot of barking 😵‍💫 We even have Happy Hoodies to protect your pets ears too 👌

👀 What happens if a Cockapoo coat isn't correctly maintained ❓️

🐶 Cockapoos have soft, curly/wavy coats that don't shed & without regular grooming, this can quickly become a problem 😣

‼️ Without regular grooming, severe matting can take hold and there may be no option but to shave it all off 😬

So how often should they be groomed? ...

✂️ Depending on preferred length, grooming schedules can vary from 4-8 weekly, however, maintenance at home between grooms is also important 🪮

ℹ️ Brush daily for 5-10 minutes & check the coat with a metal comb ✅️

ℹ️ Areas to focus on include ears, tail, armpits, legs, neck and harness area.

📸 Our little Cockapoo model is Truffle 💖 She comes every 4 weeks & keeps a relatively short but not shaved coat ✨️

😎 We all love a wee spell of sunshine & although it probably won't stick around for long, while its here we need to keep our pooches safe ☀️

🌡 Avoid the mid day sunshine when out walking 🐕 Not only can dogs overheat very quickly but they can also burn their wee paw pads on the ground 🐾 🥵

🌳 Forest walks are best as the shade provides extra protection & coolness ✅️🌲

💧Ensure your pet has clean fresh water available at all times 💯

🚗 Avoid unnecessary long car journeys & this goes without saying...NEVER LEAVE YOUR PET IN CAR UNATTENDED ‼️
