Each year the RSPCA Radcliffe Animal Shelter cares for many hundreds of animals as they are brought in by RSPCA Inspectors or members of the public having been found abandoned, injured or as victims of cruelty and abuse. It costs the shelter around £500,000 a year to help local animals. All of our funds are raised locally from members of the public, companies and other organisations.

🐶🥞 Happy Pancake Day! 🥞🐶

Why not let your four-legged friends join in the fun with these simple, dog-friendly pancakes? Tantalise their taste buds and get their tails wagging!

You’ll need:
✔️ Flour
✔️ Eggs
✔️ Water

How to make them:
1️⃣ Mix the ingredients into a batter, adding more water if needed.
2️⃣ Fry the pancakes as you would your own, using a little oil (great for a healthy, shiny coat)
3️⃣ Top with a drizzle of peamutt butter for a savoury twist, or add a little banana, apple, chopped carrot or strawberry, or their favourite biscuits for a crunchy finish.

Doug & Jazz: A Journey of Rescue & Rehabilitation at Radcliffe Animal Centre. 😢

Two injured and malnourished lurchers are now safe in our care after being found abandoned on a country lane in Nottinghamshire. The dogs, now named Doug and Jazz, were discovered on the evening of Monday, 3 February. A kind-hearted member of the public spent time gaining their trust before taking them to an emergency vet, where they received immediate treatment for their wounds.

Both dogs were transferred to us at Radcliffe Animal Centre, where they continue to receive veterinary care and much-needed TLC. Malnourished and in poor condition with open wounds, both were in a desperate state. Doug, the younger of the two, was in particularly poor condition with a swollen leg requiring staples. Due to this, he is currently on limited walks as he heals.

Doug and Jazz have been through so much, but they are now safe and recovering well in our care. Both are beautifully natured dogs who are starting to show their playful and curious personalities. They still have a way to go, but it’s wonderful to see them wagging their tails and growing stronger each day. At this stage, Doug and Jazz are not yet available for adoption, but we’re delighted with their progress and will be looking for loving new homes once they are fully recovered. We’ll keep you updated on their journey! ❤

🐾 Bobby is STILL waiting… 7 weeks and counting... 🐾

At 9 years and 8 months, Bobby should be snoozing on a comfy sofa, not watching other dogs leave while he stays behind. 💔

Despite his wait, Bobby hasn’t given up hope and neither have we. 🥰

This loyal, loving Staffordshire Bull Terrier is looking for an experienced owner with time for walks and continued training. He’s strong on the lead and needs a home that will help him build confidence when out and about, especially around other dogs.

Bobby loves company, enjoys his walks and just wants a place to feel safe and loved but he does need a pet-free home.
Once Bobby trusts you, he’s the most devoted, cuddly companion with a big heart. 💖

Whilst Rod enjoys unwinding with his newspaper after a busy day, Yvonne settles down crocheting beautiful blankets for our cats and kittens. These cosy creations not only keep our furry friend's snug in their pods but also make the transition to their new homes smoother by carrying a comforting, familiar scent. 😻😻

Max, a brave Staffie Cross, endured unimaginable abuse as a puppy. Rescued in critical condition, he overcame severe injuries thanks to the tireless care and dedication of the RSPCA Radcliffe Animal Centre team. ❤ After months of rehabilitation and unwavering love, Max’s life took a brighter turn when he found his forever home with the McEwen family. For over 12 years, he was cherished, adored, and celebrated for the joy he brought to everyone he met. Max lived a life filled with adventures, cuddles, and endless love, leaving behind a legacy of resilience and unconditional love. ❤ Though Max passed away at the grand age of thirteen and a half, his story is a shining example of what can be achieved with kindness, care and compassion. ❤ As we step into 2025, let’s honour Max’s memory by striving to create a kinder, more compassionate world for all animals that pass through our doors.
