RSPCA Radcliffe Animal Centre

RSPCA Radcliffe Animal Centre It costs the shelter around £500,000 a year to help local animals. Registered charity number 503759

The RSPCA Radcliffe Animal Centre Trust is an independent charity which receives no financial assistance from the National Lottery or Government and is separate from the national RSPCA. Each year the RSPCA Radcliffe Animal Shelter cares for many hundreds of animals as they are brought in by RSPCA Inspectors or members of the public having been found abandoned, injured or as victims of cruelty and

abuse. All of our funds are raised locally from members of the public, companies and other organisations.

As Volunteers' Week begins tomorrow, we'd like to say a huge thank you to every single person who gives their time to support Radcliffe Animal Centre. ❤️

Whether you're walking dogs, spending time with our cats and rabbits, helping with grounds maintenance, supporting events, or joining us for a corporate volunteer day, your contribution makes a real difference every day.

Your time, commitment and hard work are invaluable to our staff, but most importantly, to the animals in our care. ❤️

Thank you for everything you have done so far this year and continue to do. Your support, dedication and generosity make a real difference every day, and we are incredibly grateful.

Happy Volunteers' Week! 🎉

Meet Heidi ❤️

This lovely five-year-old Jack Russell Terrier is looking for a loving home once again.

Sadly, Heidi returned to our care due to her owner's ill health, but she's taking everything in her stride. As you can see, she loves zooming around our fun & run area and making the most of every day! ❤🐾

Heidi is looking for an experienced owner, a home where she can be the only pet, and any children should be of secondary school age.

Find out more about Heidi here: https://rspca-radcliffe.org.uk/animal/heidi/

The pavement is too hot for your dog.

If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws.

Every summer we share the same warnings:
☀️ Don’t leave dogs in hot cars.
☀️ Avoid walking in the middle of the day.
☀️ Watch for signs of heatstroke.

Yet we still see dogs being walked in the hottest part of the afternoon.

People are wearing shorts and sandals while their dog is beside them in a thick fur coat… walking barefoot on boiling pavements.

If you think it’s fine, try this:
Put on the thickest coat you own and walk barefoot in the midday heat.

Dogs can’t tell us they’re struggling.
They can’t take their coat off.
They can’t open a door or ask for water.

The animated video below shows just how dangerous a hot car can become for a dog in warm weather.

Heatstroke can happen frighteningly fast, and sadly, it can kill.

Missing one walk will NOT harm your dog.
But walking them in extreme heat could.

Please wait until the evening or early morning when it’s cooler. ❤️

🐾 Want to make a difference for animals in need? 🐾

Did you know that Radcliffe Animal Centre is a separately registered charity to the national RSPCA? This means we rely heavily on the kindness, generosity and support of our local community to help care for the animals at our centre.

Whether it’s holding a bake sale, walking an extra mile, organising a fundraiser at school or work, or simply collecting donations, every little bit really does help us continue caring for animals in need here at the centre. ❤️‍🩹

Why not book one of our Educational Visits on a Thursday and come and learn more about the work we do?

During your visit, you’ll have the chance to:
🐶 Meet some of the animals in our care
🐱 Hear their rescue stories
🐰 Learn more about animal welfare
💙 Discover how your fundraising and support helps make a real difference

If you’re part of a school, organisation, community group or club and would like to arrange a visit, we’d love to hear from you!

If you meow at Wallace, you’re suddenly having a full conversation 🐱💬

This sweet boy always has something to say ❤️

Wallace isn’t available for adoption just yet, but we couldn’t keep this adorable moment to ourselves. We think he wants everyone to know that even though he’s not quite ready to find a home, he’d still love for you to pop down and say hello 🐾

We have some beautiful cats currently up for adoption. 🐾😻❤️

Why not pop down and give them a visit to see if we have a four-legged feline friend that would fit perfectly into your family life? ❤️

We currently have 10 cats up for adoption and with the school holidays approaching next week, our adoptions have gone a little quiet.

Our cattery is open for public viewing daily between 12:30pm – 3:30pm, so why not come down and say hello to all of our lovely cats waiting patiently for their new owners. 🐾😻❤️

Remy is having the BEST time in our fun & run. 😍

Watching this beautiful seven-month-old girl zoom around our fun & run area with pure happiness always makes us smile. She loves chasing after a ball, even if bringing it back is still a work in progress!

What we love most about Remy though is seeing her after she’s had her fun. Once she’s burnt off some energy, her whole body relaxes, her tongue hangs out and she just wants cuddles and affection. She really does have the loveliest nature and not a bad bone in her body. 💞

Remy is looking for an experienced owner who is home most of the time and willing to continue the training she’s already doing so well with, here at the centre. She’s still young, eager to learn and has so much potential in the right home.

We know her perfect family is out there somewhere 💕

Please share her post and help us find the family she truly deserves ❤
