Dear all,

Since announcing my retirement from full-time hands-on grooming, I’m missing seeing all my regulars and I’m certainly missing my involvement with dogs terribly…

While my body is enjoying the break from the physical lifting and clipping, I’ve realised I still want to help dogs and their owners.

I want to try a new venture as a ‘Home Dog Grooming Tutor’.

Instead of grooming the dogs myself, I am thinking about stepping into a teaching role, running private, in-home masterclasses… I’ll be travelling to clients' homes to coach owners on how to safely and confidently maintain their small/medium dogs themselves (or coach in my already, fully equipped groom room if/when required)

I’m assessing interest levels to determine any potential interest in this service that I’m looking to provide as a dog grooming home tutor/trainer.

This kind of thing petrifies me...🐶

I feel it’s vital for Dog owners to be made aware that NOT all dog groomers have experience/training or are qualified…

On June 15, an owner dropped off her toy poodle/bichon frisé cross for a grooming appointment. The owner later discovered several injuries, including a sliced ni**le that had allegedly been repaired using superglue.

Is your dog groomer experienced/trained, currently undergoing training or qualified?
Do you check their credentials before allowing them to groom your dog?

If anyone is thinking about starting dog grooming for a living - I strongly advise booking training courses…

I trained with ICMG at Sue Oliver’s Dog Grooming Salon, International Certified Master Groomers (ICMG), this is one of the most highly respected and rigorous certifications in the pet grooming industry..

ICMG UK (which works alongside the International Professional Groomers association) is a globally recognized awarding body. Rather than being a single school, it operates by assessing and certifying independent grooming academies across the country.

We're still seeing people walking their dogs during the hottest parts of the day. 🥵

If the pavement is too hot for your hand, it's too hot for your dog's paws.

Please avoid daytime walks during this heatwave. Hot pavements can burn paws and dogs can quickly suffer from heatstroke in these temperatures.

🙏 Please walk your dog at dawn or dusk when it's cooler.

Dear Clients and Furry Friends, it is with a very heavy heart that I am announcing my retirement from dog grooming. Due to unexpected health reasons, I have been advised to step away from the grooming table and focus on my well-being. I’ve been recovering and now I’m much much better. This was a difficult decision, but it is the right one for me at this time. I want to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you. It has been an absolute joy and privilege to pamper, love, and care for your beloved dogs over the years. “Thank you” for your unwavering loyalty, your kindness, and for trusting me with your furry family members. I will miss seeing all their wagging tails! “Thank you” for the wonderful memories and for being such a fantastic community. I wish you and your pets all the best!
