Successful visit to the dogs trust charity shop in Attleborough today to purchase these alternatives to the humble tennis ball.

I am not sure if it is just an urban myth, but dogs playing with tennis balls always worries me a bit.

Excellent shop, friendly staff/ volunteers, lots of interesting and good quality items for dogs and humans. Open on Sundays!

Temperatures outside hit 33 degrees Celsius yesterday. The 4Paws extreme weather procedure was activated.

Fortunately the 4Paws home is an airy barn conversion with 2ft thick outside walls. The temperature in the pet boarding room didn’t surpass 24oc which is acceptable, but the lounge areas did hit 26oc.

Dogs being dogs want to be with their humans, so we all stayed indoors during the heat of the day. Early and late walkies, treat scattering, wet towels, fans and a shallow paddling were all enjoyed by our big cuddly guests.

We are aware of the posts circulating regarding a dog that very sadly died after visiting a tulip festival.

We want to make it very clear that, despite what is circulating in the press and on social media, this dog did not die as a result of tulip poisoning.

As the UK’s only animal poison centre in the UK, we have managed over 1600 cases regarding tulips. Based on this evidence and our research, we can reassure the public that the clinical signs described in this case are not consistent with tulip toxicity. While tulips may cause gastrointestinal upset if ingested, severe cases are very uncommon. Other potential causes should be considered in this case.

Your family pets will be kept as they would at home with you. No other pet guests will stay whilst your pets are with us. Your pets will have our full attention.

Whilst looking after dogs is the most frequent request, we also have years of experience looking after furry animals from little Hamster’s to horses.

Our prices start at £20 for a day visit, and £40 per night for holiday boarding. Additional pets are at a reduced rate of 50%.
