48hr Policy
Hello Redbrookers, we just want to talk about the dreaded 48HR CANCELLATION POLICY 😫. I know that the majority of you understand and never question it. Thank you we appreciate it so much. 💖

We would just like to remind everyone of our 48hr cancellation policy and why we have it.

I understand it can be frustrating for you to have to pay for a lesson that you never had but we are here prepared and waiting for you.
From our perspective you are not the only person to cancel. In a typical week we have several cancellations for various reasons.
This generally tops up to be the equivalent of someones wages.
Your space has been booked, the pony booked out and is waiting for you, staff paid for and time in the school set aside.
Our ponies only do a limited amount of lessons a day and we try very hard to keep our groups small so everyone gets a lot of imput in their lessons.
So having people not turn up has a huge impact on us as a small business.
Our outgoings are huge and never stop. The only way we can try and keep our prices down and stay open is by having a 48 hour cancellation policy so we can make an effort to offer the space to someone else that wants to come.

Having a riding school is NOT a money maker. Its more of a vocation. We love teaching and watching your skills grow, as well as seeing your children become confident, improving their skills and building relationships and having fun.

I’m very sorry about this but our policy is the only way we can survive as a small business. We make sure everyone is aware of our policy when they make a booking and we do have signs up all around the yard.

If you still wish to ride with us and want to avoid a 48 hour policy it would be best to leave it to the night before or try calling on the day and see if we have any spaces available.
Please note we take payment when booking.

We have a vacancy for weekend help or a part time apprentice here are Redbrook. Our apprenticeships are run through Haddon Training Provider.
You can do all your training on site.
BHS Stage 1, 2, 3, 4
Teacher Training
Level 2,3 or 4 Horse Care and Riding.

16hr week, National Apprenticeship Wage.

There is a further Opportunity to learn and join clinics/workshops for TTouch, Connected Riding and take ABRS tests.

Our Story

Redbrook Equestrian is a friendly professionally run Riding School, Pony Club Centre and livery yard situated in Upper Redbrook near Monmouth in the beautiful Wye Valley.

Redbrook Equestrian was Estabilshed in 2007, run by Hayley Howells ABRSTC, TTouch Practioner with over 30 years teaching experience and keen to help riders fine tune their riding. Redbrook is on top of a hill with amazing views on the Offas D**e path in Upper Redbook nr Monmouth. We have a flood lit arena, jumping paddock and miles of off road hacking through beautiful forestry.

Our fantastic School Masters are very well educated and beautiful to ride, ranging from PSG Dressage, to Intermediate Eventers, to Pony Club Team ponies, a real treat to ride. Our horses and ponies live out in small herds 24/7 all year round and only come in for their lessons. They are a very calm and relaxed bunch.

We use Tellington Touch and Connected Riding with our clients and horses. Teaching you how to use your body more efficiently, to readily improve your horse's performance by rebalancing the rider and encouraging freedom of movement, self-carriage, improving overall behaviour, performance, and communication. We have regular training days for those who are interested in learning more of this.

We also hold ARBS training courses: If you haven’t got your own horse but want to set yourself some goals to improve your riding. Don’t despair because the ABRS Progressive Rider tests could be your perfect option. The ABRS recognises that not everyone is lucky enough to own a horse. Financial and time constraints mean that many riders rely on getting their ‘equine fix’ on a weekly basis, with a much looked-forward-to riding session at their local approved centre. ABRS Progressive Rider tests have been specifically designed to provide a logical and progressive system of training. They give adult and child riders a structured programme of realistic stepping stones to achieve their equestrian goals both in the saddle and on the ground. The tests can also be adapted as necessary to suit riders with a disability.

For the Adults we have our own Riding Club and host Rally Day and Camps. These are fun and sociable, consisting of lessons, competition, pub hacks and lunches. A chance to spend time with other like minded people, who share your passion for horses.

The Pony Club is a fantastic way for pony mad children to learn and is ‘the’ starting place for anyone with an interest in horses and riding, who wants to learn and have fun in a safe and caring environment. We hold regular Rallys and Camps. Membership is open to anyone up to the age of 25 with or without their own horse or pony. From total novices to those with more experience who aspire to the highest standards of riding and horse care, developed by training, assessment and access to a wide range of equestrian sports and gaining achievement badges and progressive test certificates and awards.
