Sadly I have had some in my care this week through over heating 🥵please read & be kind to your fur family 💜💜💜

Hot Pavement, Heavy Paws.

We set off out, just me and him,
His lead was on, his tail did skim.
The sun beat down, no clouds in sight,
A proper scorcher — full on might.

I had my trainers, socks and all,
But he walked barefoot, proud and tall.
He didn’t moan, he didn’t fuss,
Just trotted on behind the bus.

But then I saw his little dance —
A hop, a skip, a worried glance.
He paused mid-step, then looked at me,
His paws were hot — I failed to see.

I checked the path, I touched the ground,
It sizzled up without a sound.
I’d brought him out in midday blaze,
The hottest time of summer days.

A whimper came, a tiny plea,
That crushed the heart inside of me.
For dogs don’t shout, they never scold,
They just endure — brave and bold.

He'd walk through fire to make me glad,
But here I was, the careless lad.
He trusts me more than I deserve —
It’s me who’s meant to have the nerve.

A bloke walked past with pint in hand,
His bulldog chilled beneath a fan.
Another pushed their pug in shade,
While I stood still, a bit dismayed.

So here's the truth — don’t be a clown,
If you can’t walk barefoot through town,
Then don’t drag your dog out for fun,
In blistering heat and blinding sun.

Go early morn or when it’s cool,
Don’t let him suffer ‘cause you’re a fool.
His paws aren’t boots, they feel the pain —
So think ahead — don’t walk in vain.

Let’s give them walks they love to bits,
With shady trees and grassy bits.
They give us love, both near and far —
The least we owe’s a softer tar.

With reference to my post a couple of nights ago regarding the deceased cat brought into my care💜
I can now confirm that the owner was found.
Thank you to all that commented and helped.
He has now been reunited with his family who have taken him home to bury
RIP Felix.

Taking care of pets is what I do..
and that doesn’t always mean by way of cremation.
It is always the owners choice 💜

Should anyone find a deceased pet, I do have a chip scanner
I will always be happy to help them find their way home💜

NOTICE !!!!
I have taken into my care this evening a deceased cat.
He was found in Mansfield woodhouse.
Unfortunately there is no tag.
I have a scanner….
Please help to find the owner.
By sharing.
Cat is mainly black with some white on face and chest
Pet has a collar on so must belong to someone.
Owner is not obliged to use my services.
But I am happy to keep in the hope of finding pets family

Prior to becoming ‘At rest’ my job was as a pro photographer.

We lost our boy Fletcher at only two and half 💔 this was an image of him merged into his paw print.

Just shy of 13 years ago my girl Lucy (sleeping Angel)gave birth to 7 lovely choccy puppies that I helped bring into the world and nurtured for 8 weeks 🥰 I have watched them grow and spent many happy times/walks that I have cherished.
Sadly some have reached their end of life age and today
Beautiful Maddie came back into my care ❤️‍🩹
It doesn’t seem like almost 13 years have passed since they were born.
Although a very sad time
It was also a happy moment to have this girl back in my care ❤️I brought her into the world and now take pride in giving her the best end of life care.
She was such a pleasure
Rip special girl 💕now with your mummy again.
And thank you to her family for bringing her back to me to take care of ❤️
