Our Hot Weather Policy.

💢💢Please be Aware That All Walks are CANCELLED This Week Due to Another Week Of Extreme Temperatures! 💢💢

Day Care Is On As We Have Our Beautiful Shaded Dog Park On site. However if You Prefer to Cancel Feel Free ❤️

Hot Weather Policy Here At Hayley's Hounds Pet Services

Monitoring
We will:
☀️Monitor local weather forecasts and on-site throughout the day

☀️Assess humidity as well as temperature, as high humidity increases heat risk.

☀️Adjust activities when temperatures rise above safe levels.

☀️General Hot Weather Measures

During warm weather we will:
💧Ensure fresh drinking water is available at all times.

⛱️Provide shaded indoor and outdoor rest areas

🌬Use fans, ventilation & cooling mats

🌞Reduce physical activity during the hottest parts of the day.

🐕‍🦺Schedule walks and outdoor play earlier in the morning or later in the evening.

Closely supervise all dogs for signs of overheating.

High Temperature Procedures
At 22°C and above
☀️Shorter outdoor play sessions.
☀️Increased rest breaks.
☀️Constant access to water and shade.

At 26°C and above
☀️Outdoor exercise significantly reduced.
☀️No vigorous group play.
☀️Cooling activities only (paddling pools, enrichment games indoors, sniff activities).

At 30°C and above
☀️Outdoor activity stopped except for toileting.
☀️Dogs kept in coolest indoor areas possible.
☀️Owners may be contacted for early collection if conditions become unsafe.

Dogs at Higher Risk
Extra care will be taken for:
🐶Flat-faced breeds (e.g. Bulldogs, Pugs, French Bulldogs).
🐶Elderly dogs.
Puppies.
🐶Overweight dogs.
🐶Dogs with medical conditions or thick coats.
These dogs may require shorter sessions or restricted activity during hot weather.
