We have a new volunteer vacancy here at the shelter, with the shelter becoming increasingly busy, we have developed a new volunteer role which will be a relaxed and varied role across the shelter site.

We are a small friendly diverse team of dedicated staff & volunteers, being part of our shelter family is rewarding & fulfilling!

We would like to say the biggest thank you and express our gratitude for every single person that came to support our wonderful shelter on Sunday for our Summer fun dog show & Fete.

We haven’t stopped smiling today as we are so over the moon to announce we made - £5424.26 and every single penny of this will go towards all our wonderful animals currently in care and that will be coming through our gates in the near future, WARS wouldn’t be able to help a fraction of the animals we do if it wasn’t for our amazing community that continue to support us.

We all know rescue and welfare of animals isn’t getting any easier, and each year we all face new challenges to overcome but we will always do our very best to change as many lives as possible and be there for as many dogs and cats 🐾 💚

We can’t wait to share more photos and everyone who paid for a professional photo Sunday please note they will be available this week we have spent the last 48 hours getting the shelter back to normal and looking after our wonderful dogs and cats, our brilliant talented photographers are part of the kennel and cattery team “Chris and Dan” but by day trade they’re the animals lifeline amongst the fantastic girls you also met on our play pens “Tess, Georgie, & Beth” who provided the excellent agility and snuffle park activities 😻

We can’t wait to welcome you in September for the autumn show! 🎃

🐾 A Day to Remember with Our Furry Friends 🐶

Our residents had an absolutely wonderful time at the Worcestershire Animal Rescue Shelter’s Fun Dog Show this weekend! 💜

There were wagging tails, warm cuddles, licks of ice cream, and more than a few happy tears. From meeting adorable pups to watching the fun competitions, the smiles were endless. 🐕🎉

Thank you to the team at WARS and everyone who helped make this heartwarming outing possible – it was a day filled with joy, love, and cherished memories. 💕🐾

I’m teaming up with the amazing Chelsea’s Pup Parlour and we’re thrilled to be having a stall at the Worcestershire Animal Rescue Shelter Fun Dog Show on Sunday 1st June!

We’ll be there with a range of goodies for your pups so be sure to stop by, say hi, and spoil your furry friends.

Calling all collie fans! Meet Zeus 💚

This handsome boy, came to us as he was struggling in his previous busy family home being a highly intelligent collie, his owner worked long shifts and Zeus started to struggle with the lifestyle and needed more stimulation and exercise.

Zeus has used tennis balls as a coping mechanism and can be very transfixed on them, so we are currently using them as a training tool, and ensuring they’re not left around for Zeus to become frustrated. Zeus can be vocal, when he first begins his walks, but does settle down.

We are currently trying to build some food motivation for training, and an understanding of what Zeus enjoys the most, it’s been hard for him in kennels and he certainly shows great potential but he certainly will make better progress in a quiet peaceful home where he can be with his family 1-1.

Zeus would really thrive with active, training minded owners, who enjoy the outdoors, he adores being out exploring. Zeus is house trained and can be left for 2-3 hours, which will need building back up slowly in his new home and could be extended over time when he is settled and relaxed.

Zeus needs a home with older children 13+, and no other pets, however he can walk with other dogs, and he is building his dog skills up slowly at the shelter and making great progress, it’s important he continues to do this in his new home.

This handsome lad, is very much a young adult dog that’s just left puppyhood, and really will excel in the right home he ill be a rewarding rescue dog, could you be the one to give him his second chance?
