🌡️🐠 Heat Wave Reminder for Fish Keepers 🐠🌡️

With the hot weather upon us, don’t forget that our fish can struggle during a heat wave too. If your tank temperature is shooting up, here are a few ways to help keep it cool:

✅ Turn off aquarium lights and keep the tank out of direct sunlight. Keep them curtains closed.
✅ Float frozen bottles of dechlorinated water in the tank to gradually lower the temperature. Make sure to keep an eye on the thermometer!
✅ Increase aeration with an air stone or extra surface movement, as warm water holds less oxygen. Surface agitation also releases heat so it’s a win win.
✅ Keep the room as cool as possible by using fans or using air conditioning as keeping the room cooler is sometimes easier than keeping the aquarium cool. 😎

⚠️ Avoid adding ice directly to the tank or making sudden temperature changes, as this can stress your fish.
